Los Angeles County election officials are investigating after mail-in ballots were found damaged by fire inside an official ballot drop box just days before LA’s highly anticipated June 2 mayoral election.

The incident was discovered Sunday morning in downtown Los Angeles when election workers were collecting ballots from a drop box outside the county Department of Public Social Services building in the Civic Center area.

According to county officials, multiple vote-by-mail ballots appeared to have sustained fire-related damage inside the official drop box.

Authorities are also reviewing a separate act of election-related vandalism at a vote center located at Cesar E. Chavez Park in Long Beach.

In a news release, County officials said the Long Beach incident did not stop voting operations at the site, but the timing of both incidents raises serious concerns about the security of California’s election system as voters head into the final stretch before Election Day.

Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan said his office is working with law enforcement and other partners to review both incidents and determine whether any voters were affected.

“Our responsibility is to protect voters and ensure every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast a ballot,” Logan said in a statement.

Officials said voters whose ballots may have been damaged in the drop box fire will be contacted directly and given options, including replacement ballots if necessary.

The county has not yet released the number of damaged ballots, the identity of any suspect, or the cause of the fire. A police report was filed with the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the registrar’s office.

The incident comes as California continues to rely heavily on vote-by-mail ballots and ballot drop boxes. State election officials mailed ballots to active registered voters for the June 2 primary, and voters are allowed to return ballots by mail, at official drop boxes, county elections offices, polling places, or vote centers.

Drop boxes are supposed to provide a secure and convenient option for voters, but incidents like this show the obvious vulnerability of leaving ballots in public collection boxes for extended periods.

This is not the first time Los Angeles County has dealt with fire damage involving a ballot drop box. In 2020, a ballot box outside the Baldwin Park Library caught fire in a suspected arson incident, forcing firefighters to cut open the box and leaving numerous ballots damaged.

Election officials routinely tell voters that mail-in voting and drop boxes are safe and secure. Yet voters are now watching another incident unfold in America’s largest county, where ballots were reportedly burned inside an official drop box shortly before a statewide election.

As America prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of its founding, the left is once again showing the country exactly what separates conservatives from the modern Democrat Party.

On MSNOW Sunday, a segment about America’s upcoming anniversary quickly turned into another example of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Instead of celebrating the country’s founding, its history, and its unmatched promise, the left-wing panel used the occasion to frame American patriotism as something suspicious, divisive, and tied to race.

The segment began by looking back at the 1976 bicentennial celebration, when America marked its 200th birthday with events across the country. New York Harbor hosted a parade of historic ships, the National Air and Space Museum opened in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia hosted major events near Independence Hall.

Millions of Americans came together to celebrate the country’s founding.

That should be the model for 2026. President Trump has pushed for America’s 250th anniversary to be a national celebration, not just a Washington, D.C., event. The goal is to involve the entire country, including rural communities and forgotten parts of America that are often ignored by the political and media class.

But MSNOW could not simply celebrate America.

The network’s framing suggested that national pride and unity “rings false” for many Americans because of the country’s history and current politics.

The message was clear: because Donald Trump is president, even celebrating America’s founding must be treated as controversial.

That is the difference between the right and the left. Conservatives fly the American flag whether a Republican or Democrat is in office. Conservatives may oppose a president’s policies, but they still love the country and want America to succeed.

The modern left increasingly treats patriotism as conditional. When its preferred party is out of power, America suddenly becomes a dark, oppressive, and morally broken country.

The segment also brought on Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr., whose book focuses on race and America’s anniversaries.

During the discussion, Glaude claimed that “white nationalists” have taken control of the federal government and that Trump and his supporters view America as a “white republic.”

This is the same tired racial narrative that the left uses in every debate. Immigration enforcement becomes racism. Patriotism becomes white nationalism. Celebrating the Declaration of Independence becomes an act of exclusion.

The American flag becomes a political symbol only because the left has spent years attacking the values it represents.

America has a complicated history, including slavery and racial discrimination. No serious person denies that.

But America was not founded on the idea that race should define a person’s worth. America was founded on the principle that civil rights come from God, not government, and that every person is entitled to liberty under the law.

The country has not always lived up to that promise, but the story of America is the story of expanding that promise to more people.

The left refuses to acknowledge that progress because its entire worldview depends on grievance.

Critical race theory, DEI, and modern identity politics all rely on the claim that America remains permanently racist. If America has made progress, then the left’s racial industry loses its power.

Conservatives believe America is the greatest country on earth because of its Constitution, its freedoms, its opportunities, and its founding principles. The left increasingly sees America as a nation defined by oppression, racism, and guilt.

While President Trump and millions of Americans prepare to celebrate 250 years of American greatness, the left is preparing to lecture the country about why celebrating America is wrong.

That is exactly why conservatives must celebrate louder.

MSNOW Anchor Gets KICKED OUT of Violent Newark Anti-ICE Protest by Police — Then Complains on Live TV (VIDEO)

An MSNOW anchor was forced away from the scene of a chaotic anti-ICE protest outside Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey, after police moved in to restore order—and then spent the live segment complaining that law enforcement was preventing him from covering the story.

The protest outside the ICE detention facility had already spiraled into a tense confrontation between demonstrators and police.

Officers in tactical gear, shields, and batons moved into the area as the scene grew increasingly unstable. Flashbangs were reportedly heard, arrests were made, and police were forced to establish a larger perimeter around the facility.

Yet MSNOW still tried to frame the situation as if law enforcement was the problem.

During the live report, the anchor described a large police presence outside Delaney Hall and repeatedly noted that officers were pushing him and his crew farther away from the protest. Police told him to step back as officers moved in to secure the area.

Instead of simply complying, the anchor repeatedly questioned officers about how far he had to move, whether he could stay where he was, and why he was being removed from the scene.

“We are press, though,” the anchor told police during the broadcast.

The officer’s answer was simple: everybody had to move back.

That should have been the end of the discussion. When police are trying to control a protest that has already become volatile, the press does not get to decide where the security line should be. Law enforcement does.

But the MSNOW anchor continued complaining on air, saying the order to move back would hurt his ability to cover what was happening.

He later said multiple officers were escorting him and his crew away from the scene, as if police were doing something suspicious by making sure the media followed the same safety instructions as everyone else.

The irony was obvious. The same media outlet that regularly lectures Americans about “respecting institutions” suddenly had a problem when police officers gave basic crowd-control instructions during an anti-ICE protest.

The anchor also claimed he was trying to “bear witness” to what was happening at Delaney Hall. But the situation outside the facility was not a press freedom seminar. It was a protest that had gotten out of hand.

When police deploy a large number of officers, move barricades, and push people away from a scene, that usually means the area is no longer safe.

The left’s coverage of ICE follows the same pattern every time. Activists make allegations about detention conditions. Democrats rush to blame immigration enforcement. Protesters gather outside a facility.

When the protest becomes chaotic, the media shifts the blame back onto law enforcement for trying to restore order.

The same thing happened in Newark.

Instead of focusing on the protesters who created the need for a police response, MSNOW focused on the inconvenience of being moved away from the scene. Instead of asking why anti-ICE protests keep becoming confrontational, the network framed police as the villains for doing their job.

This is the modern media’s ICE coverage in one clip.

If ICE enforces immigration law, the left calls it cruel. If police protect an ICE facility from chaos, the left calls it excessive. If officers tell a reporter to move back during a dangerous situation, the left turns it into a press freedom complaint.

ICE Detainees Launch HUNGER STRIKE as Democrats Blame ICE Over Facility Food (VIDEO)

A group of detainees inside the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, reportedly went on a hunger strike, and Democrats immediately found their favorite target: ICE.

During an appearance on MSNOW, Democrat Rep. Rob Menendez of New Jersey blamed the Trump administration, ICE, and private detention contractors for conditions inside the facility.

Menendez claimed detainees were being held in “inhumane” conditions and described stories involving pregnant women, elderly detainees, medical concerns, and family members worried about loved ones inside.

The segment focused heavily on emotion. Viewers heard about a pregnant wife, a 10-year-old daughter, mothers missing Mother’s Day, and detainees who say they want their stories told. Menendez framed the situation as a moral crisis created by the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.

What the segment did not seriously address is the obvious contradiction at the center of the entire debate.

Democrats complain that ICE facilities are overcrowded, understaffed, unsanitary, and overwhelmed.

Then those same Democrats oppose the funding, staffing, detention capacity, deportation resources, and immigration enforcement infrastructure needed to fix the very problems they claim to care about.

Menendez said one judge had to hear 74 immigration cases in a single day and argued that the situation was unfair. Yet immigration court backlogs do not get solved by weakening enforcement or demonizing ICE.

Backlogs get solved with more judges, more court capacity, more staff, and a faster deportation process for those who have no legal right to remain in the country.

Democrats cannot spend years attacking ICE, pushing sanctuary policies, resisting deportations, opposing stronger border enforcement, and then act shocked when the system becomes overloaded.

The hunger strike itself also exposes the strange way Democrats discuss immigration enforcement. If detainees refuse food as a form of protest, that decision does not automatically prove ICE is abusing them.

ICE facilities provide food. A hunger strike is a political act by detainees trying to draw public attention. Democrats and left-wing media outlets then use that act to argue that the agency should be blamed.

Menendez also suggested certain people should not be held inside the facility, including pregnant women, elderly detainees, and medically vulnerable individuals. But that raises the question Democrats rarely answer: Where should they go?

If Democrats want more specialized facilities, more medical staff, cleaner bathrooms, shorter stays, faster hearings, and better detention conditions, then Congress must fund the system needed to provide them.

If Democrats want detainees processed more quickly, they should support faster removals and fewer legal delays. Instead, the party’s answer is usually to attack ICE, attack detention contractors, attack the Trump administration, and demand fewer deportations.

The MSNOW interview showed the modern Democrat Party’s immigration strategy clearly: lead with emotional stories, blame ICE for every consequence, and refuse to support the practical tools needed to make the system function.

Now detainees at Delaney Hall are on a hunger strike, and Democrats are once again blaming the people tasked with enforcing the law.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill Sides With Anti-ICE Protesters After Violent Chaos at Newark Detention Facility (VIDEO)

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill held a press conference Saturday addressing the violent anti-ICE protests outside Delaney Hall in Newark, and her comments showed exactly why blue-state leaders cannot be trusted to defend law enforcement when immigration enforcement becomes politically inconvenient.

The protests outside the ICE detention facility have spiraled into chaos. Demonstrators have confronted law enforcement, federal officers have been targeted, journalists have faced hostility, and authorities have been forced to respond as crowds escalated near the facility.

The issue should have been simple. ICE agents are federal law enforcement officers carrying out federal immigration law. The governor’s first responsibility should be to ensure that officers can do their jobs safely and that violent protesters are arrested, prosecuted, and removed from the area.

Instead, Sherrill opened her press conference by emphasizing the protesters.

“My focus is on protecting people’s right to protest peacefully and ensuring everyone’s safety,” Sherrill said.

That sounds reasonable until the rest of her remarks made clear where her political sympathies were.

Rather than focus on ICE agents who have been attacked and threatened, Sherrill immediately shifted the discussion toward alleged actions by ICE in other states and claimed she would not allow ICE to use the protests as a “pretext” to expand operations in New Jersey.

“I will not give ICE a pretext to expand operations at Delaney Hall or across our state,” Sherrill said.

That line revealed the entire problem. A governor watching anti-ICE unrest unfold outside a federal detention facility should not treat ICE as the threat.

Violent agitators are the threat. People trying to block immigration enforcement are the threat. Protesters who surround law enforcement vehicles, threaten personnel and bring projectiles into the area are the threat.

Sherrill then praised “the vast majority of protesters” and said the focus should be on “advocating for better conditions” inside Delaney Hall.

She also said New Jersey law enforcement moved in because action was necessary to “avoid escalation from ICE.”

Escalation from ICE?

ICE did not create the chaos outside Delaney Hall. ICE agents were doing their jobs. The protests were directed against them because the left has spent years demonizing immigration enforcement and portraying federal officers as villains for enforcing the law.

Even more revealing, state law enforcement later described exactly what officers were facing. Lieutenant Colonel David Sierotowicz said agitators surrounded a marked law enforcement vehicle and made threats toward personnel.

He said individuals were seen retrieving face coverings, gas masks, fireworks, rocks and other projectiles from a nearby tent area. That is not a peaceful protest. That is organized escalation.

Sherrill did eventually acknowledge that five of the six people arrested were from outside New Jersey and said some national extremist groups had become involved.

But even then, the governor framed the matter around protecting the anti-ICE cause from being distracted by violence. Her message was not a full-throated defense of law enforcement.

Her message was that protesters should “bring the temperature down” so attention could return to detainees and Delaney Hall’s conditions.

This is the modern Democrat Party’s immigration problem in one press conference. The left claims to support law and order until the law being enforced involves illegal immigration. The left claims to oppose violence until the violence is attached to a cause favored by progressive activists.

Sherrill ran as a supposedly moderate Democrat, but Saturday’s press conference told a very different story.

When ICE agents were under pressure and anti-ICE activists were creating chaos in Newark, New Jersey’s governor did not make law enforcement the center of her message. She made the protesters the center of her message.
