Macron’s Authorities Raid Elon Musk’s X French Offices in Paris

Elon Musk doubles-down, calls out Mark Kelly for putting Urkaine before the US.

Under the direction of France’s globalist President Macron, French authorities escalated their confrontation with American tech entrepreneur Elon Musk this week, launching high-profile raids of X’s offices in Paris and summoning Musk himself for what prosecutors termed a “voluntary interview.”

The move marks a dramatic intensification of France’s long-running effort to rein in the America-based free-speech platform.

According to the Paris public prosecutor’s office, the operation was carried out by French cybercrime units with assistance from Europol, targeting the French premises of X. Authorities claim the investigation centers on whether X’s algorithm improperly influenced French political discourse.

Summonses were issued to Musk and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino, calling them to Paris in April 2026 to answer questions related to the probe. Yaccarino, who stepped down last year, is listed alongside Musk as a manager during the period under review.

The investigation was formally opened in January 2025 following complaints filed by French political figures aligned with President Emmanuel Macron’s globalist government. Chief among them was MP Éric Bothorel, who accused X of allowing too much ideological diversity and objected to Musk’s direct involvement in platform governance.

To critics of the French government, of which there is no shortage, that complaint alone revealed the true nature of the case—not criminal enforcement, but political retaliation.
Under Musk’s ownership, X has dismantled many of the vague content controls that once favored left-wing establishment narratives across Europe.

French prosecutors later broadened their inquiry, citing concerns related to X’s AI chatbot Grok, including claims it produced offensive or false content. Musk’s company responded by correcting errors, removing disputed posts, and publicly documenting its moderation actions—steps critics say would have been praised had they come from a European firm.

France’s legal framework, which criminalizes certain forms of speech, has long clashed with America’s First Amendment traditions. That tension now sits at the heart of the transatlantic standoff, as Paris seeks to apply its speech codes to a American-owned platform operating globally.

The timing has also raised eyebrows. The raid comes as right-wing, national-conservative, and anti-globalist parties continue gaining ground across Europe, often using X as a primary channel to bypass legacy media. For Macron’s government, controlling the digital battlefield is increasingly viewed as a political necessity.

Officials close to the investigation insist the probe is purely legal, yet the rhetoric surrounding it suggests otherwise. The Paris prosecutor’s office openly framed the case as ensuring X’s “compliance” with French law—language critics say sounds like ideological enforcement.

X’s leadership has rejected the allegations outright, calling the investigation “politically motivated” and warning that it risks setting a dangerous precedent for state-directed censorship. The company maintains it enforces clear, public rules while protecting open debate.

Washington has also weighed in. American officials previously warned that aggressive European enforcement against American tech firms could trigger retaliation, particularly if free expression is curtailed under the guise of digital regulation.

The European Union has separately launched its own inquiries into X, part of a broader regulatory push that disproportionately targets American platforms while leaving state-aligned European media largely untouched.

Macron’s government, already weakened by public backlash over immigration, economic stagnation, and unabashed top-down governance, now appears determined to silence platforms that refuse to follow the approved script. X’s openness has made it a focal point for dissent the French establishment no longer controls.

U.N. Facing ‘Imminent Financial Collapse’ Admits Secretary General as Countries Won’t Cough Up Membership Fees

UN Secretary-General António Guterres addresses the General Assembly, September 19, 2023, UN photo.

The United Nations is facing an “imminent financial collapse” as member states refuse to cough up billions of dollars in mandatory contributions.

The financial woes were laid out in an emergency letter from Secretary-General António Guterres sent to all 193 member countries.

Guterres said the organisation’s financial crisis is worsening rapidly, threatening the delivery of core programmes and potentially leaving the U.N. bankrupt by July.

He urged member states to either pay what they owe in full or agree to sweeping changes to the UN’s financial rules to avoid collapse.

“Either all member states honour their obligations to pay in full and on time—or member states must fundamentally overhaul our financial rules to prevent an imminent financial collapse,” he wrote.

The warning comes as the United States, the U.N.’s largest contributor, has refused to fund the organisation’s regular and peacekeeping budgets and has withdrawn from multiple UN agencies.

The Trump administration has repeatedly criticised the U.N. for wasting taxpayer dollars, appeasing criminal regimes and infringing on the sovereignty of the U.S. and other member nations.

The Case for US Withdrawing from the UN

Several other member states are also in arrears or have declined to pay their assessed contributions.

According to Guterres, only 77 per cent of mandatory payments were received in 2025, leaving a record shortfall.

The UN’s financial strain has been compounded by internal rules requiring it to refund unspent funds, even when the money was never collected in the first place.

As a result, the organisation has been forced to return hundreds of millions of dollars it does not have, including $227 million refunded this month alone.

Signs warning of the crisis have reportedly been posted throughout U.N. offices in Geneva, where cost-cutting measures now include reduced heating and frequently shut-down escalators.

The cash shortage is already affecting operations, with U.N. agencies announcing widespread cuts that have led to the removal of funding in many of the world’s poorest countries.

The Trump administration has said international institutions must “adapt or die”, pledging limited humanitarian funding while cutting broader UN support.

Other major donors, including Britain and Germany, have also reduced foreign aid payments over the past year.

President Trump to SETTLE $10 BILLION IRS LAWSUIT — Plans to DONATE THE PROCEEDS TO CHARITY

02. Februar 2026 um 14:30

President Donald J. Trump is preparing to settle his massive $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Treasury Department, and he says he will donate the entire payout to reputable charities instead of keeping a penny for himself.

President Trump, Eric Trump, Don Jr., and the Trump Org filed a lawsuit against the IRS for leaking their tax returns. They are seeking $10 billion in damages.

In September 2023, federal prosecutors charged a former IRS contractor who worked for the agency from 2018 to 2020 with unlawfully obtaining and disseminating the tax details of a high-ranking public official and numerous affluent Americans to media outlets.

According to court documents and an official press release from the Department of Justice, Charles Littlejohn, 38, of Washington, D.C., stole tax return information associated with a high-ranking government official, referred to as Public Official A  – now known as Donald Trump. He then disclosed this information to a news organization identified as News Organization 1 – now known as The New York Times.

Littlejohn reportedly stole IRS information on thousands of wealthy people. The stolen information was then disseminated to two news outlets (New York Times and ProPublica).

“In July and August 2020, Littlejohn separately stole tax return information for thousands of the nation’s wealthiest individuals. Littlejohn was again able to evade IRS detection. In November 2020, Littlejohn disclosed this tax return information to News Organization 2, which published over 50 articles using the stolen data. Littlejohn then obstructed the forthcoming investigation into his conduct by deleting and destroying evidence of his disclosures,” the DOJ previously said.

Littlejohn was only sentenced to five years in prison. Political leaders said he should have been sentenced to 60 years.

“The IRS wrongly allowed a rogue, politically-motivated employee to leak private and confidential information about President Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization to the New York Times, ProPublica and other left-wing news outlets, which was then illegally released to millions of people,” a spokesperson for Trump’s legal team told CNBC.

While the suit seeks $10 billion in damages, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he finds the figure so large and potentially controversial that he doesn’t want it to become a lightning rod for critics, according to Fox News.

Instead, Trump said the proceeds would go to “established and respected charities” such as the American Cancer Society and others that help everyday Americans.

“We’re thinking about doing something for charity where I’ll give money to charity,” Trump said. “We can make it a substantial amount. Nobody would care because it’s going to go to numerous very good charities.”

Trump added, “If I pay myself, that somehow will never look good. A lot of outside people said, ‘What a great idea,’ because nobody cares how much if it goes to a good charity. So you settle by giving charities a lot of money and I think we’re going to do something like that. We’re looking to do something like that.”

Don Lemon’s Attorney, Abbe Lowell (left), discusses Lemon’s arrest with Jen Psaki (right)

Jussie Smollett’s Don Lemon’s lead defense attorney, Abbe Lowell, sat for an interview with MS Now host Jen Psaki on Friday, where he laughably claimed that Don Lemon thought he was being attacked by right-wingers when federal agents were “stalking” him.

“Don thought he was being mugged because he has been controversial, and he actually thought some crazy people on the right might be stalking him,” he said.

The disgraced ex-CNN host was taken into custody last week after storming a Minneapolis church and harassing churchgoers with deranged anti-ICE activists last month. He was charged with 18 USC 241, Conspiracy to Deprive Rights, and 18 USC 248, Violation of the FACE Act, but released without bail.

Lowell attacked the DOJ for arresting Lemon in Los Angeles, the city where he was in on Thursday, the same day the grand jury indictment was filed, claiming they “waited until he’s in Los Angeles,” as opposed to arresting him at home in New York.

“They wanted it to be terrifying. They wanted it to be intimidating. They wanted it to create fear,” he said, noting that “They waited until 11:30 at night,” when he returned to his hotel room.

But that’s not all they did wrong, according to Lowell. A “bevy of Agents” surrounded Lemon and arrested him, and he thought he was under attack just like Jussie Smollett claimed on that late night in the streets of Chicago.

“But they didn’t just take him away. Remember, they didn’t just stalk him in Los Angeles. They did it at 11:30 at night, so they knew that he’d have to spend a night in jail for no reason whatsoever. But they did that on purpose,” Lowell said.

Forget about the pre-dawn raids, battering rams, guns drawn, tactical gear, and countless FBI agents that were involved in the arrests of many prominent conservatives and January 6ers.

WATCH:

Lowell: They didn’t do it just in the way you’re supposed to. They wanted it to be terrifying. They wanted it to be intimidating. They wanted it to create fear. So, he lives in New York, it’s not Minneapolis. He’s going to Los Angeles to do his job, which is to cover, in this case, the Grammys this weekend. They waited until he’s in Los Angeles. That’s not enough.

They waited until 11:30 at night, when he was coming back for doing what he does, in the lobby of a hotel, and not one, not two, not three, but the bevy of Agents surround and take him away. Don thought he was being mugged because he has been controversial, and he actually thought some crazy people on the right might be stalking him.

Psaki: Can I pause just for a moment because I think it’s so important for people to hear this, we just showed Georgia’s video. How many agents surrounded him in the lobby?

Lowell: I’m trying to count right now, but let’s put it this way. It’s more than the one that would have been necessary to do it the right way. And they’re— and they’re cloaked, and they’re protected and they’re armed. This is to somebody who’s not a threat, doesn’t have a criminal record, he’s not Maduro in Venezuela that you have to snap out.

You basically have heard from his attorney, and they don’t care about any of that. So, they take him away, and that’s what happened. But they didn’t just take him away. Remember, they didn’t just stalk him in Los Angeles. They did it at 11:30 at night, so they knew that he’d have to spend a night in jail for no reason whatsoever. But they did that on purpose.

Lemon has spoken out numerous times since his arrest, including on Saturday, where he vowed to get more “outspoken,” while laughing about his criminal charges and potential jail time like a madman.

Ironically, in contrast with Lowell’s claims, Lemon told his podcast audience, “I think people think like, I’m really scared. I am not, and you don’t even know the experience that I had over the last couple days. And I will talk about them at some point, and I’ll see, maybe it’s sooner than later, but we’ll see. But it wasn’t at all what I expected in many ways.” He continued, “I know that there are people who think like, oh, you know, do this, and you know that I’m gonna be locked up or whatever. I ain’t worried about that. You heard the truth, and the truth shall make you free. I ain’t even worried about that.”

Norway Crown Princess Mette-Marit and her son Marius Borg Hoiby.

The Princess is apologizing for her close Epstein ties, just as her son is on trial for rape.

The royal family in Norway is reeling with the repercussion of the latest – and probably last – document release on the Epstein files.

The three and a half million additional documents were released by the DOJ pursuant to the approval of the House Resolution 4405, the ‘Epstein Files Transparency Act’.

The released files cast a very negative light on Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

DPA reported:

“According to media reports on Saturday, the 52-year-old is mentioned several hundred times in the documents published by the US Department of Justice on Friday. It became known years ago that Mette-Marit had contact with Epstein.”

A visit to Epstein’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2013, is creating waves, as the Royal Palace confirmed that Mette-Marit had ‘borrowed Epstein’s house’ through a mutual friend, staying there for four days.

Guri Varpe, spokeswoman for the Norwegian royal family made a point to add that the crown princess ‘never stayed on the multimillionaire’s private island, Little Saint James’.

“On Friday evening, the crown princess apologized. She had ‘not checked Epstein’s background more thoroughly’, she explained in a statement released to several Norwegian media outlets. She said she had shown ‘poor judgement’ and regretted ‘having had any contact with Epstein at all’.

‘It’s just embarrassing’, she continued. She expressed her ‘deep sympathy’ and solidarity with the victims of the sex offender.”

Norwegian media says Mette-Marit met Epstein ‘several times’ in the United States and in Oslo in 2011 and 2013.

If that wasn’t enough, an email has surfaced from the trove in which former Bill Gates advisor Boris Nikolic appears to suggest that the woman who would become Norwegian Crown princess is pregnant with a baby from Epstein.

Email correspondence between Jeffrey Epstein and Boris Nikolic discussing scheduling a trip and mentioning a conversation about a person named Mette.

But as bad as the Epstein situation is for the Norwegian royals, the worst is yet to come, as Mette-Marit’s son goes on trial Tuesday (February 3) accused of raping four women, as well as drug and assault offenses.

CBS News reported:

“Marius Borg Hoiby, Mette-Marit’s 29-year-old son from a relationship before she married Crown Prince Haakon, has been charged with a total of 38 counts, some of which date back to 2018.”

Hoiby faces up to 16 years in prison if found guilty.

“’When it comes to the Norwegian royal family, it is without a doubt the biggest scandal’ in its 120-year history, Trond Noren Isaksen, a historian and expert on Norway’s monarchy, told AFP. ‘There have been controversies surrounding the choice of spouses, about renovations of the palace and these kinds of things, but never any real scandals involving criminal offences, let alone so many’, he said.”

Besides the four rape charges, Hoiby is also accused of physical and psychological abuse of several ex-girlfriends.

Scott Presler pushed the SAVE Act on FOX News.

Republican activist Scott Presler joined Kayleigh McEnany on FOX News to push the Save Act. Presler told FOX News that there are already 48 co-sponsors with Mike Lee sponsoring the bill. But Senate Majority Leader John Thune needs to bring it up for a vote.

The Save act requires:
** Proof of US citizenship to vote,
** Mandates states to verify the citizenship of voters
** Requires states to remove non-citizens from the voter rolls

These are basic rules to help secure our elections. Democrats are against them, of course.

Scott is urging everyone to continue to call their senators and ask them to make a public statement about moving the Save Act to the Senate floor.

Scott Presler: So as it stands right now, we have 48 co-sponsors with Mike Lee sponsoring the bill. And as you just showed the clip earlier, Senate Majority Leader Thune even indicated support for the Save Act.

So here’s where we are right now. First, let’s start with the Save Act, and I’ll be brief. I need everybody to continue to call your senators and ask them to make a public statement about bringing the Save Act to the Senate floor and forcing any senator that is opposed to requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote must tell the American people publicly on the floor why they are against that bill. That’s step number one. Step number two. So what Senator Mike Lee has done is introduce the Save America Act, which is not only the proof of citizenship requirement, but photo voter ID…

… So my warning to members of Congress that are not willing to pass election reform at the federal level, which is constitutional, is either Republicans allow for proof of citizenship and photo voter ID, or it’s very likely that Republican voters will not come out on Tuesday, November third, and we very likely could lose the House of Representatives, and you could even lose Senate. The senatorships in Alaska, Maine, North Carolina. And if we lose three seats, Kaylee, it’s 50-50, and we lose the majority. So to our beautiful Senate Republican colleagues that are in the majority right now, I ask you, bring the Save Act to the floor, and any senator against proof of citizenship must tell the American people publicly on the floor why they are against it.

Dark Money and Foreign Influence: Global Network Funding Anti-ICE Protests

Research and analysis groups investigating the funding behind protest organizations have identified a network of interconnected NGOs. Beyond the Soros and Open Society network, other major funding ecosystems include the Arabella funding network, the Tides funding network, Neville Roy Singham and his foreign-funded network, and other large left-wing donors.

The Tides Foundation and Arabella Advisors operate as pass-through entities that allow donors to fund specific causes anonymously. In Minnesota, groups such as the Sunrise Movement, which pivoted toward anti-ICE activity in 2025–2026, have received millions of dollars from the Sixteen Thirty Fund, an Arabella-managed group, as well as from the Tides Foundation.

The Soros and Open Society network remains a primary funding source for organizations such as the Legal Rights Center in Minnesota, which operates the “Know Your Rights MN” project. That project has been linked to bail funds supporting anti-ICE protesters in the Twin Cities.

The Ford and MacArthur foundations, while historically focused on broad social justice initiatives, have also appeared in 2025 grant disclosures as significant financial backers of Sunrise Movement chapters across the Midwest.

Some of these entities and funders are not U.S. citizens, including Hansjörg Wyss of Switzerland. They pour money into this broader ecosystem, which helps fund decentralized crowdfunding platforms that allow Antifa, the John Brown Gun Club of Elm Fork, which has been linked to an attack on an ICE facility, the Socialist Rifle Association, and other groups to receive financial support.

Neville Roy Singham is an American tech billionaire born in 1954 who founded ThoughtWorks, a software company sold for $758 million in 2017. He now resides in Shanghai, China, and has been accused by U.S. lawmakers, media outlets, and investigators of using his wealth to fund a global network of NGOs and activist groups that promote Chinese Communist Party narratives while opposing U.S. policies on foreign affairs, human rights, and immigration.

Singham denies being a CCP agent, stating that he does not take orders from any government, but reports highlight his close ties to Chinese state media and propaganda efforts.

Singham’s funding operates through a web of nonprofits, shell companies, and donor-advised funds, often with minimal transparency, including addresses listed at UPS stores. Key entities include United Community Fund, Justice and Education Fund, and People’s Support Foundation, which act as conduits and are headed by associates such as Jodie Evans, a Code Pink co-founder, or former ThoughtWorks employees.

Funded groups include Code Pink, People’s Forum, Tricontinental Institute, Party for Socialism and Liberation, ANSWER Coalition, International People’s Assembly, BreakThrough News, and others.

These organizations focus on far-left causes, including anti-war, pro-Palestine, and anti-capitalist activism, with messaging that aligns with CCP views, such as defending China on human rights while criticizing U.S. actions. The network has distributed millions of dollars, with People’s Forum admitting it received more than $20 million from Singham, funneled through intermediaries. Reports from The New York Times in 2023 and other outlets describe the system as an elaborate dark money network advancing CCP influence worldwide, including in the United States, India, South Africa, and Brazil.

Singham has been repeatedly linked to funding anti-ICE protests and riots in U.S. cities. These claims stem from congressional investigations, media reports, and public statements, though direct financial trails are often obscured by the network’s structure.

Groups such as the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Code Pink, People’s Forum, and the ANSWER Coalition, all funded by Singham, have organized or supported anti-ICE actions, including the “Shut It Down for Palestine” campaign, which intersects with broader anti-U.S. policy protests and unrest in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and other cities.

There are also allegations that Singham’s network provided logistical and financial support for “Hands Off Venezuela” and pro-Maduro protests that overlap with anti-deportation efforts. Nationwide, his funding has been tied to pro-Palestine campus protests, anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles in 2025, and current “ICE-Out” actions, often framed as part of a broader information operation against U.S. interests.

Representative Anna Paulina Luna of Florida has publicly stated that Singham is “funding a lot of these anti-ICE riots,” calling him “worse than Soros” and linking him to groups such as the “armed queers of Salt Lake City” and Cuban activist networks.

While direct communist terrorist links are not explicitly listed on IRS forms, as groups would lose their 501(c)(3) status, the ideological and financial lineage is traceable. Several Minnesota groups, including ISAIAH, are associated with the Gamaliel Foundation, which was founded on the community-organizing principles of Saul Alinsky. These methods are designed to rub raw the sores of discontent to force radical structural change. Reports in 2025 indicated that nearly $2 billion in foreign money from the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Switzerland has flowed into U.S. political advocacy groups since 2020.

While many of these entities are labeled climate foundations, the money is frequently diverted into Get Out the Vote efforts and civil society training used during periods of unrest. As of January 2026, the FBI has opened investigations into the funding behind violent anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis, specifically examining evidence of coordinated interference and the theft of government property.

It’s an Epstein deluge.

And so, we’ve come to the point today where the DOJ has released no less than 3,5 million new documents from the Jeffrey Epstein Files, pursuant to the House Resolution 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

That’ll keep reporters all over the world busy for weeks or months to come, but the revelations are already coming in, hard and fast.

To begin with, a sleazy moment in 2010 where the disgraced financier sets up former Prince Andrew with a 26-year-old Russian woman, in the same year that the fallen royal told the Kingdom that he severed ties with Epstein.

Andrew and Epstein’s connection survived the sex offender’s incarceration.

The Telegram reported:

“In emails to a contact listed as the ‘The Duke’, the convicted sex abuser wrote: “I have a friend who i think you might enjoy having dinner with„ her name is irina she will be london 20-24 [sic].”

In response, the former Duke of York appeared to reply: ‘Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of 22nd but would be delighted to see her. Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch.’ […] Epstein later clarified the woman was ‘26, russian, clevere [sic] beautiful, trustworthy and yes she has your email’.”

“Andrew: How are you? Good to be free?

Epstein: …great to be free of many things”

Another Telegram report, we learn that, in another released email, Epstein claimed that Bill Gates caught an STD after having sex with Russian girls.

Epstein-Gates: Documents suggest their connection was much more extensive than previously known.

Epstein sent a ‘memo to himself’ on July 18 2013, where he writes about a falling out between the two.

“’TO add insult to the injury you them [sic] implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your penis’, the email reads.

[…] The revelations about Gates offer the first public details of their relationship after they were photographed together multiple times in previous Epstein Files.”

The revelations are coming in non-stop, so stay tuned.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill launches an “ICE tracking portal,” urging the public to film and report federal immigration agents

Newly inaugurated New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill (D) has announced the creation of a state-sanctioned surveillance tool designed to track, monitor, and harass Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents operating within the state.

Sherrill, a radical Democrat who has previously smeared federal officers as “Trump’s militia,” unveiled the so-called “ICE Activity Reporting Portal” this week.

The state-funded website explicitly encourages New Jersey residents to act as spotters for illegal aliens by filming federal agents and uploading the footage to a government database.

Speaking on The Daily Show Wednesday evening, Sherrill compared ICE agents to the “secret police” forces she encountered while deployed as a naval officer.

The radical governor also said she is working with Acting Attorney General Jennifer Davenport to ensure New Jersey residents know their rights and to launch an online portal allowing the public to upload cell phone videos of ICE agents operating in the state.

Sherrill:
“I’ve already met with the AG. We are putting out information to help New Jerseyans know their rights. We are not going to allow any ICE raids to be staged from state properties.

And we are also going to be standing up a portal so people can upload all their cell phone videos and alert people. If you see an ICE agent in the street, get your phone out. We want to know.

Because they have not been forthcoming. They will pick people up. They will not tell us who they are. They will not tell us if they’re here legally. They won’t check. They’ll pick up American citizens. They picked up a five-year-old child.

We want documentation, and we are going to make sure we get it.”

With Winter Storm Fern wreaking havoc across the country, New England women are worried about energy affordability. Yet many do not connect rising energy costs to the state policy decisions that invited them.

According to new polling from Independent Women, 82% of New England women say they’re paying more for their electricity bills, compared with five years ago. This is the first comprehensive poll exclusively asking women—who primarily handle their household electricity bills—their attitudes on energy issues.

New England has enacted the nation’s most aggressive climate policies to phase out oil, gas, and coal and achieve a 100% renewable energy target by 2050. While it’s easy to blame utility companies and the federal government for exacerbating the electricity crisis, state policies—namely, New England’s decarbonization plans—bear more responsibility for inviting energy insecurity and associated higher costs.

Congress gave states near-exclusive power, under the Federal Power Act, to create electricity generation portfolios, determine electricity prices, and establish mandates for renewable energy generators. In the past 20 years, New England states adopted radical climate mandates to force a transition to 100% renewable energy, ban gas-powered cars, and adopt energy efficiency standards to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).

In the last five years, costs have skyrocketed across all six New England states. Between 2019 and 2024, electricity prices across the region soared 29%—the highest regional rates in the Lower-48. The average household paid $250.82 per month in utility bills as of last November—up 50.5% from 2024, when the average regional bill was only $166.48 per month. New England rates are 67% higher compared to the national average.

New England states were early adopters of aggressive green mandates like renewable portfolio standards (RPS) and membership in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). States with RPS report higher electricity rates compared to non-RPS states. All six New England states belong to RGGI, a cap-and-trade program that has a negligible impact on carbon emissions reductions. It’s no wonder that 53% of poll respondents admitted they feel misled by state politicians about the cost and effectiveness of 100% renewable energy policies.

Independent Women’s poll also found that New England women support reliable energy sources. A plurality of New England women (42%) support an electric grid powered by both conventional and renewable energy sources.

An overwhelming majority support expanding geothermal energy (68%) and natural gas (61%), a clean-burning fuel, in the region. Support for natural gas is encouraging, despite decades’ long regional policies that discouraged or blocked new natural gas infrastructure projects.

Natural gas is a reliable, clean-burning fuel that supplies the majority of net-electricity generation in the U.S., and in New England. The recently revived Constitution Pipeline, first approved in 2014 and cancelled in 2020, is expected to deliver natural gas to New England states by 2027. A new report warned that a lack of new natural gas capacity will stress New England’s energy infrastructure and could invite “electricity reliability challenges” ahead of Winter Storm Fern.

Despite its strict green mandates, New England is still heavily reliant on natural gas, nuclear energy, and electricity imports from Canada (9%)—not renewables (12%).

Last fall, the CEO of ISO New England, the regional transmission organization overseeing the region’s electric grid and transmission, warned that wind and solar aren’t dependable sources during winter, remarking: “We cannot operate the system in the wintertime without a dependable energy source that can balance the system when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow.”

By continuing down its decarbonization path, New England, save for New Hampshire, would see energy costs spike $815 billion through 2050 over the cost of operating the current grid. But there’s a solution to the region’s self-inflicted energy crisis. A new report by Always On Energy Research and a coalition of Northeastern think tanks, “Alternatives to New England’s Energy Affordability Crisis,” argues that building natural gas and nuclear power, rather than costly, unreliable offshore wind and solar projects, will save New Englanders upwards of $700 billion in energy costs.

New England women overwhelmingly respond positively to affordable, reliable, and scalable messaging. But the poll also finds they currently trust elected Democrats on affordability issues. Democrats know they have to deliver, which is why they’re disavowing the same climate pledges that they previously championed. Conservatives, however, are uniquely positioned to appeal to women on energy issues, if they get this moment right.

Due to deregulation and abundance policies, energy inflation is down nationally. For electricity prices to decrease in New England, states must repeal expensive policies that solely push wind and solar at the expense of reliable, affordable energy sources.

The video, dated January 13, appears to show an armed Pretti confronting federal law enforcement officers and spitting on them before getting tackled.

The footage, analyzed by The BBC with facial recognition, confirmed Pretti’s identification with a 97% degree of accuracy.

Pretti was released at the scene after law enforcement tackled him.

It is unclear if Pretti was charged, however, CNN reported that he was known to law enforcement prior to his death.

CNN reported this week that Alex Pretti, 37, was known to law enforcement.

According to CNN, Pretti broke a rib after getting tackled by agents as he attempted to impede an immigration operation just one week before his death.

The footage obtained by The BBC corroborates CNN’s report.

A week later, Pretti resisted arrest and attacked federal law enforcement agents before he was fatally shot.

Two DHS agents involved in the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti have been place on administrative leave.
