Report: Karmelo Anthony Has Visible Reaction as Intense Body Cam Footage Is Played in Court

Austin Metcalf was allegedly fatally stabbed by Karmelo Anthony during a high school athletics event in Frisco, Texas, on April 2.

The horrific death of high school athlete Austin Metcalf on April 2, 2025, sent shockwaves through the Frisco, Texas, community when it happened.

So it should come as little surprise that the ongoing trial has been emotionally charged.

It’s been so charged that even the alleged murderer, Karmelo Anthony, appears to have had a visible response to footage of that tragic night.

According to the New York Post, Anthony “squirmed” and was “fidgeting” while some of the more disturbing footage from the incident was being shown.

At other points of the trial, Anthony rubbed his eyes and “quivered.” Things even got heated at one point, with the judge dismissing various people to try and keep order in the charged case.

“Holy God, holy God,” Hunter Metcalf, Austin’s twin brother, cried in prayer, as the bodycam footage showed. He was in the same tent where the incident occurred.

The grieving brother could also be heard saying: “He’s my best friend! He’s my brother! Hurry up!”

The bodycam footage came from the track and field meet, where Anthony, a student at Frisco Centennial High School, allegedly stabbed and killed Austin, a student at Frisco Memorial High School.

Anthony was apparently in the Frisco Memorial track and field team tent, and when Metcalf asked him to leave, some sort of confrontation occurred. It ultimately led to Anthony fatally stabbing Metcalf.

In June 2025, a grand jury indicted Anthony for murder.

“With the first degree murder indictment, it now goes into the court system,” Jeff Metcalf, Austin’s father, said at the time. “I fully believe that justice will be served for Austin Metcalf. I look forward to the forthcoming trial.”

“But it will never bring my son back.”

Interestingly, Anthony’s supporters had largely tried to make the case a racial issue, and framed Anthony’s actions as those of self-defense.

From Minister Dominique Alexander:

Today, we were informed by the Collin County District Attorney that Karmelo Anthony has been indicted. As many of you know, this is the first step in a criminal proceeding, and now the legal process will move forward toward trial.

— Minister Dominique Alexander (@niquealex) June 24, 2025

“This case is yet another example of what it means to be Black in America, where even our self-defense is questioned, scrutinized, and politicized,” one prominent Anthony supporter posted.

However, according to NBC News, witnesses to the heinous act apparently told a different story.

The outlet reported that multiple witnesses actually characterized Anthony as the aggressor in the fatal incident.

Witnesses recounted that while Metcalf did push Anthony at one point, they said the latter was still the primary instigator.

Sunny Hostin Admits She Hates America, Declares Country a ‘Failed Experiment’

veröffentlicht.

People often use the term “hate” rather loosely these days.

“I hate the Buffalo Bills,” or “I hate pepperoni,” or “I hate pumpkin pie” are various forms of “hate” you may hear.

The term has, frankly, lost a lot of meaning, not unlike the term “racist.”

But there’s a different, much more real sort of hate that exists out there. It’s not the sort of hate you just casually announce or throw around. It’s the sort of genuine hatred that emanates from one’s actions and words.

And it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out that “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin really does hate America for not being the far-left fever dream that she seems to want.

Just watch this latest clip, courtesy of the Media Research Center’s Associate Editor Nicholas Fondacaro, that’s making the rounds showing how festive Hostin is in the lead-up to America’s 250th birthday celebration:

Sunny Hostin, who once said she was more comfortable in Ghana than America, says she’s “embarrassed” by the country as America nears 250 and calls it a “failed experiment” in self governance:

SUNNY HOSTIN: And so I think we have a very complicated history here. I think it’s a… pic.twitter.com/gILwK0E8y8

— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) June 5, 2026

“And so I think we have a very complicated history here,” Hostin said. “I think it’s a very complicated country.”

Honestly, had she stopped here with her Debbie Downer act, it would’ve been defensible. History is complicated. Nobody’s arguing that it isn’t.

But of course, Hostin just couldn’t help herself.

“And at this point, I am embarrassed at our government,” she said. “I’m embarrassed at our lack of health care. I’m embarrassed on the assault on the press. I’m embarrassed of our Congress. I’m embarrassed by the criminal felon president that is in the Oval Office that has a UFC cage on the White House lawn.”

Obamacare failed. Former President Joe Biden’s social media pressure about the coronavirus vaccine was worse than anything Trump may or may not have done against the press. I’ll actually give her Congress being embarrassing, since people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar are in it. “Criminal felon president” is a cute slogan, but missing crucial context. And the UFC is gnarly.

What else you got, Sunny?

“I’m embarrassed about all those things,” she droned on. “And I’m also embarrassed at how America is now seen across the globe. I don’t think that many Americans understand that we are part of a wonderful global community. And when you look at our allies, our allies are now giving us a one-star rating as a country.

“While I am conflicted about this country, because I feel that it is at this point a failed experiment, quite frankly, I am also discouraged by how this country is viewed by the rest of the world.”

Look. Is America perfect? Obviously not. No nation is.

But Hostin’s mistake is one that many leftist elitists make: confusing flaws with failure. The United States remains the most powerful, prosperous, innovative, and influential nation on Earth.

Millions of people still risk everything to come here. They don’t cross deserts, oceans, and borders because America is a “failed experiment.” They do it because, despite its imperfections, America continues to offer opportunities that much of the world simply cannot.

This is the country that defeated fascism, outlasted communism, landed men on the moon, built the modern internet, pioneered countless medical breakthroughs, and remains the backbone of the global economy.

It is, and this should be important for Hostin, a nation where citizens are free to criticize their leaders on national television without fear of imprisonment, where political power changes hands through elections rather than military coups, and where people from every race, religion, and background can build successful lives. Calling that a failure requires ignoring both history and reality.

Hostin is entitled to her opinions, of course. That’s part of what makes America exceptional.

But if the approach to the nation’s 250th birthday is to dwell exclusively on every perceived grievance while dismissing every accomplishment, then the problem isn’t patriotism. The problem is a perspective.

A country that has achieved so much, overcome so much, and still inspires so much hope around the world deserves better than to be reduced to a punchline by genuinely hateful people fortunate enough to enjoy the very freedoms and prosperity it provides.

’60 Minutes’ Staffers Should ‘Shut up’ and ‘Quit Crying’ About the Show Being Gutted, Says Mediaite Chief

Mediaite Editor-in-Chief Joe DePaolo wrote an op-ed this week telling “60 Minutes” staffers to stop complaining about recent changes at CBS and get back to work.

His piece began with praise for CBS’ flagship news program, but the tone quickly changed to one of tough love: “Shut up, quit crying and go to work.”

DePaolo’s article was in response to recent firings and departures, which left some staffers so upset that they openly cried and had emotional outbursts.

Former CNN reporter and “Status” founder Oliver Darcy covered the staff changes last week, and it reads like an obituary.

He interviewed various employees who were upset at CBS Editor-in-Chief Bari Wess and owner Larry Ellison for shaking things up to restore public trust.

“Tears flowed openly in the newsroom,” Darcy wrote. “Staffers exchanged texts expressing not only heartbreak, but genuine anger at Weiss and Ellison for upending a program they treasure.”

“They’re gutting us,” one staffer lamented. “It’s over. I don’t see how ‘60’ will be able to function after this.”

DePaolo’s response? “Tough. Deal with it.”

In addition to the firing of Scott Pelly — who challenged Weiss’ authority and threw a tantrum after he was terminated — multiple correspondents and producers were either let go or didn’t have their contracts renewed.

“See, at this point, it’s not really about whether CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss is ‘murdering’ the storied newsmagazine, as newly-fired correspondent Scott Pelley claimed,” DePaolo wrote. “It’s about whether those still around at ‘60 Minutes’ really want to be part of its demise. Because if they really want to save ‘60 Minutes,’ they need to do the exact opposite of what Scott Pelley did.”

He accused Pelley of “grandstanding in front of his colleagues,” adding that it “accomplished nothing.”

“It didn’t change one iota of public sentiment,” the story continued. “If, three days ago, you believed Bari Weiss was taking a wrecking ball to ’60 Minutes’ on behalf of corporate bosses trying to curry favor with President Donald Trump, you still believe that. If you didn’t, Pelley did absolutely nothing to convince you.”

DePaolo said Pelley should have been more professional and stuck around to improve the show, rather than “cut and run.”

Additionally, he went after Pelley for bragging about his wartime coverage, saying that the correspondent has never “been in combat,” despite his claims to the contrary.

The opinion piece also slammed the CBS staffers who complained about their work, citing “millions upon millions of Americans” who “go to work at jobs they don’t love, for bosses they don’t agree with. Doesn’t matter how clueless they think the leadership might be. They grit their teeth, roll up their sleeves and punch the clock. It’s the ‘60 Minutes’ staff’s turn to do the same.”

Perhaps most surprisingly, DePaolo said Weiss critics must “admit they haven’t really given her a fair shake” regarding her attempts to revive the network’s news division.

He did, however, write that even if Weiss is acting in bad faith, the worst thing staffers can do is complain or quit.

“The old guard obviously sees themselves as the heroes of the ‘60 Minutes’ story,” DePaolo concluded. “If that’s true, then now is the moment when they prove it. Heroes don’t run from an obstacle, even — and especially — when that obstacle seems insurmountable. Heroes dig in and overcome those obstacles. And it makes for a heck of a story when they do.”

These comments come after rumors circulated about podcaster Joe Rogan replacing Pelley, or stepping in for outgoing correspondent Anderson Cooper.

CBS News spokesperson Jeremy Adler told Forbes, however, that these rumors are “false.”

Former Congressman George Santos Under DOJ Investigation

veröffentlicht.

New reports say former Rep. George Santos, a Republican from New York, is under investigation for alleged hijinks on prediction markets.

According to CNN, which cited sources it did not name, the Justice Department and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission are taking a look at activity by Santos on the prediction site Kalshi in the context of whether he would appear at the State of the Union address this year.

As recounted by NPR, the saga began in February, when Santos wrote on X one day before the address that he would be attending the speech by President Donald Trump.

At the time, NPR noted, millions of dollars’ worth of bets were being made over who would attend.

The odds of Santos attending soared after his post, but he never showed up.

Even as Trump was speaking, Santos posted that he would not be attending, sending odds of him attending heading way down.

Sources told NPR that while the public was wondering what was going on, Santos had placed bets on Kalshi that he would not attend. The end result of the deception was a profit of what NPR said was tens of thousands of dollars.

Kalshi froze Santos’ account and sent the matter to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Department of Justice, which are investigating, sources told NPR.

“Well, that’s news to me,” Santos told NPR when asked about the investigation.

Santos said, “I’m not saying yes, I’m not saying no” when asked if he had a Kalshi account.

Santos called Kalshi co-founder Luana Lopes Lara “a fellow Brazilian” with whom he is acquainted.

He said he would ask her about any investigation and let NPR know when he learned, NPR reported. It said he did not contact the outlet.

“I hate to disappoint but I don’t engage with rag reporting anymore… Business as usual on my end haters!” Santos posted on X.

Business as usual on my end haters! 💋

— George Santos (@Georgesantos) June 3, 2026

NPR said a source told it Lara does not know Santos.

As noted by The Guardian, Santos was expelled from Congress in 2023 for misusing campaign funds.

In April 2025, Santos was sentenced to seven years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud and identity theft. Trump later commuted his sentence and he was freed from prison last year.

Gabbard’s comments came on the same day that her replacement was announced by President Donald Trump.

The commander in chief posted a message to Truth Social Tuesday morning, saying that he had selected William Pulte to fill Gabbard’s role as acting director of national intelligence.

Pulte has been serving as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency since Trump appointed him in March.

“I am appointing the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Chairman of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, William J. Pulte, to serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence,” the president wrote.

“William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America, the safety and soundness of the Markets, and over 10 Trillion Dollars at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago,” he added.

“During this period, he will remain Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Chairman of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac.”

Gabbard had revealed that she would be departing the Trump administration about two weeks ago.

She said it was a difficult decision to leave, but that her husband is battling a rare form of bone cancer and needs her full support.

“His strength and love have sustained me through every challenge,” Gabbard wrote in a social media post from last month. “I am deeply grateful for the trust President Trump placed in me and for the opportunity to lead @ODNIgov for the last year and a half. Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026.”

Electric Vehicles Lead Major Car Maker to Report First Loss in Decades

veröffentlicht.

Honda Motors reported its first annual loss in nearly 70 years, which came as a result of an emphasis on electric cars.

The Japan-based car company has been listed on the stock market since 1957, but the combination of electric vehicle bets and Trump trade policies led to its first-ever year in the red.

“EV demand has declined considerably, due to the rollback of environmental regulations in the U.S. and other factors,” Honda said in a statement, per a report from Fox Business.

The company faces $9 billion in restructuring costs because of the lackluster electric vehicle demand.

It suffered a $2.7 billion loss in the past fiscal year, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Honda Motors CEO Toshihiro Mibe confirmed that it would scrap a previous target to make electric vehicles account for 20 percent of profits by 2030.

Total losses from electric vehicles are expected to hit $16 billion.

“We will continue our research to develop future technologies including electric vehicle batteries,” Mibe remarked, per Fox Business.

“We will get back on a growth track.”

The company will still set a goal of carbon neutrality.

Honda managed to cut their losses with growth in their motorcycle business unit.

It sold 20 million more motorcycles in the past fiscal year than the previous year.

The Associated Press noted that Trump administration rollbacks of policies encouraging electric vehicle adoption contributed to the Honda losses.

The White House has withheld funds for states trying to create more charging stations, as well as blocked California from imposing an electric vehicle mandate.

Tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on automotive parts were initially 25 percent, but were lowered to 15 percent.

The tariffs diminished profit margins for Honda.

Despite its current woes, Honda is still expected to pull a $1.7 billion profit for the fiscal year ending in March 2027, per Fox Business.

Infected Lab Monkey Bites Government Employee in the US, GOP Senator Demands Investigation

veröffentlicht.
Vorschau ansehen A young monkey gazes through metal bars, evoking a sense of curiosity and confinement.

In the seminal 2002 horror film “28 Days Later,” an apocalyptic zombie plague devastates the world — and it all began with a batch of sickly monkeys in a lab.

While zombies (likely) aren’t real, that hasn’t stopped at least one lawmaker from sounding the alarm about what just happened in sleepy Montana.

According to Politico, “a renowned federal research lab” in Big Sky Country saw a situation where an infected lab monkey bit an employee.

The incident occurred in November at a National Institutes of Health facility, and the culprit was a monkey infected with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever.

Thankfully, the worker was promptly treated for the bite, and never picked up the lethal tick-borne illness. The employee was soon able to return to work.

While the story may have ultimately had a happy ending, the circumstances surrounding it require much deeper investigation, according to Montana Republican Sen. Tim Sheehy:

We don’t want Montana to be the next Wuhan. Montanans and Americans deserve answers over concerning reports out of Rocky Mountain Laboratories.

Read my letter to the HHS Inspector General ⬇ https://t.co/nWebJE3k02

— Tim Sheehy (@TimSheehyMT) May 26, 2026

Sharing a post from Trump ally Laura Loomer, Sheehy revealed that he had sent a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services about the matter.

He included a straightforward — if not ominous — caption: “We don’t want Montana to be the next Wuhan. Montanans and Americans deserve answers over concerning reports out of Rocky Mountain Laboratories.”

Sheehy further elaborated on his concerns in the letter.

“Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) is a federal National Institutes of Health (NIH) research facility in Hamilton, Montana, that conducts studies on some of the world’s most dangerous infectious diseases,” Sheehy wrote. “The seriousness of the work conducted at RML means that even small lapses can carry real risks for the staff and surrounding community.”

Indeed, warnings about “real risks” carry quite a bit of weight, especially given that, per Loomer, the RML facility had been doing work with the Ebola virus.

Given the seriousness of Ebola, Sheehy’s letter to HHS included a four-pronged request.

First, Sheehy wanted a thorough investigation into the basics, including what happened, what pathogens are being used, and biosafety regulations.

Second, Sheehy also wanted a thorough analysis of RML’s safety procedures, and how they can be improved.

Third, Sheehy wanted HHS to dig deeper into RML’s “personnel management practices, including background checks, oversight, and clearance processes for staff.”

Finally, Sheehy wanted a further debrief on NIH’s protocols for employees who are under investigation for whatever reason, including what sort of facility access they have.

(One of the figures at the center of this controversy appears to be Dr. Vincent Munster, who allegedly brought unmarked vials back from a study trip to Africa.)

Sheehy, for his part, appears to already have quite a bit of support in this endeavor.

Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst, for instance, told Politico that this facility had been on her radar for some time now.

“I have been asking about this NIH lab and the research that happens there for years and years,” Ernst said. “We can never allow another Wuhan to occur, especially within our own borders.”

“A bizarre and developing situation is unfolding on McDonald Avenue between Kings Highway and Avenue S, near Kosher Corner Supermarket,” the viral post, sitting at over a million views, read.

“Video shows approximately six individuals emerging from a manhole at around 2:00 a.m. after reportedly spending nearly two hours underground — with the cover closed and a person standing watch nearby.”

Indeed, the video did appear to show just that — though it appears that there were seven individuals, not six, to ultimately emerge from the sewer.

Initially, the video showed what appeared to be that aforementioned spotter wearing a white shirt, standing by a trio of vehicles. He then walked over to the manhole in question and appeared to give some sort of signal.

At that point, seven individuals all crawl out of the sewers, with the first one physically moving the manhole cover near the cars.

Even more bizarre, several of the men then immediately began to strip down, and the video cut out shortly thereafter.

For obvious reasons, the internet had a field day with this.

Those boys are doing some Oceans 11 type things down there.

(For the unaware, that second post is a reference to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a fictitious group of anthropomorphized turtles who live in the New York City sewers.)

But for as much fun as the internet was having, according to the New York Post, local authorities were treating this much more seriously.

The outlet reported that the New York Police Department formally launched an investigation into the bizarre, viral video.

That investigation apparently involved sending one of their own men down the sewer, though nothing concrete appears to have materialized from that venture.

No arrests have been made.
