The modern American left has an ugly habit of reaching for the biggest historical trauma it can find when it wants to shut down a debate.

Slavery, segregation, Jim Crow, fascism — nothing is too grave or too blood-soaked to be repurposed as a rhetorical club.

This isn’t just asinine and lazy. It’s fundamentally corrosive to the republic.

Like, for instance, when leftist lawmakers treat colorblind, baseline election rules as moral equivalents of racial terror, they’re cheapening history and poisoning public trust. Worse, they teach voters that words like “oppression” and “racism” are just props in a hackneyed, partisan script, not descriptions of real and specific evils.

And yet the tactic persists, which tells you everything you need to know about the incentives at work. Outrage travels faster than argument, and historical guilt is easier to weaponize than facts.

That brings us to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who recently decided that the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility Act belongs in the same moral category as Jim Crow. Seriously.

“The SAVE Act would impose Jim Crow style restrictions on voting,” Schumer posted to X on Monday. “It will be dead on arrival in the Senate.”

(Of note, the SAVE Act has become a sticking point in a congressional spending bill that aims to end the ongoing partial-government shutdown.)

“I have said it before and I’ll say it again, the SAVE Act would impose Jim Crow type laws to the entire country and is dead on arrival in the Senate,” Schumer said. “It is a poison pill that will kill any legislation it is attached to.”

He added, “Let’s be clear, the SAVE Act is not about securing our elections. It is about suppressing voters. The SAVE Act seeks to disenfranchise millions of American citizens, seize control of our election, and fan the flames of election skepticism and denialism.”

Let this writer pick apart that last line, bit-by-forsaken-bit.

This “is about suppressing voters”? Oh, really, Chuckie? This might actually be one of the oldest tricks in the Democratic playbook.

The SAVE Act’s stated purpose is straightforward: require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. You can argue about implementation, edge cases, or administrative burden — but leaping straight to “voter suppression” skips the actual policy question and replaces it with a moral accusation. That’s not an argument for or against anything. That’s just branding.

The SAVE Act will “disenfranchise millions” of American voters? Notice how much work “millions” is doing in this audacious claim. How many citizens currently lack any form of acceptable proof? How many couldn’t obtain it? Schumer doesn’t say, because the number is likely far smaller — and because once you start talking specifics, the apocalypse narrative collapses rather tidily.

The “seize control of our election” bunk hardly deserves a response, but I’ll give it a stab anyhow. From whom, exactly, is control being seized? States already run elections under a thick web of federal law. Requiring proof of citizenship for federal voting doesn’t “seize control” so much as it sets a baseline eligibility check — like when someone wants to gamble or purchase alcohol.

As far as fanning “the flames of election skepticism and denialism,” that’s awful rich coming from the party that can’t seem to handle any single Stacey Abrams electoral loss with grace (or without an excuse), and a party that had no issue calling President Donald Trump “illegitimate” after he trounced then-Democratic ringleader Hillary Clinton in the 2016 general election.

But it’s not just this astute writer noticing how abysmal Schumer’s rhetoric is. Social media basically had a field day at Schumer’s well-deserved expense.

“The SAVE Act requires proof of American citizenship to vote in our elections,” fired back Ohio State GOP Rep. Josh Williams on X. “To even suggest that segregation is even remotely in the same category is an insult to our intelligence. But we’re aware that the Democratic Party is desperate to allow illegal aliens to vote.”

Another X user pointed out the obvious fallacy with what Schumer was peddling: “Calling election integrity ‘Jim Crow’ is historical malpractice. Requiring proof of citizenship to vote is not segregation. It does not target race. It applies universally.”

What’s being inverted here is historical reality.

Jim Crow was not a Republican project.
Jim Crow was conceived, enacted, enforced, and defended for decades by Democrat-controlled state governments, particularly in the South.

“Why is voter ID an issue for minorities?” the X user wrote in response to Schumer. “Why are you people so racist?”

At some point, the question stops being why basic election safeguards are controversial and starts being why certain politicians insist on framing minority voters as uniquely incapable of meeting ordinary civic standards. When critics ask, “Why is voter ID an issue for minorities… Why are you people so racist?” they’re not being glib (or just being glib).

That exact line of thought exposes the quiet, ugly assumption underneath Schumer’s entire line of attack. The claim that minorities can’t obtain identification, can’t navigate basic bureaucracy, or can’t meet the same requirements everyone else does is little more than condescension dressed up as moral concern.

Schumer’s rhetoric depends on that condescension, even as it pretends to fight it.

By treating straightforward eligibility checks as a form of racial harm, he’s not defending civil rights — he’s lowering standards around those rights and laundering them through the language of justice. If the only way to oppose the SAVE Act is to imply that millions of minority citizens are uniquely helpless, then the problem isn’t the law.

It’s the argument — and the profoundly cynical view of the people it claims to protect.

When Secretary of War Pete Hegseth took office a year ago, matching new technologies to threats was one of his core priorities. He commissioned an acquisition strategy to swiftly outfit our combat units with lethal drones.

The War Department today announced the 25 vendors invited to compete in Phase I of the Drone Dominance Program (DDP), an acquisition reform effort designed to rapidly field low-cost, unmanned, one-way attack drones at scale as part of strengthening America’s Arsenal of Freedom.

“Drone dominance is a process race as much as a technological race,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth wrote in his July 2025 memorandum, Unleashing U.S. Military Drone Dominance. “We are buying what works—fast, at scale, and without bureaucratic delay. Lethality will not be hindered by self-imposed restrictions.”

The Phase I evaluation—the Gauntlet—will begin 18 February at Fort Benning, where military operators will fly and evaluate vendor systems. The Gauntlet will conclude in early March, when approximately $150 million in prototype delivery orders will be placed, with deliveries beginning shortly thereafter and continuing over the following five months.

Drone Dominance operationalizes the Secretary of War’s acquisition reform priorities by sending a clear demand signal to industry—$1.1 billion over four phases, placing warfighters at the center of evaluation, and driving competitive, iterative cycles measured in months, not years. Across the program’s four phases, unit prices decrease, production volumes increase, and operational capability rises.

By 2027, the Department will be fielding hundreds of thousands of weaponized, one-way attack drones ready for combat.

The Drone Dominance Program is sponsored by the Office of the Secretary of War and executed by the Defense Innovation Unit, the Test Resource Management Center, and Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.

Democrat Rep. Jerrold Nadler (NY) on Tuesday said Americans would be justified in shooting masked ICE agents.

“What is really the major problem in this country today is the fascism in our streets,” Nadler said during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday.

“The attacks on American citizens by masked hoodlums. If you were attacked by a masked person, you might think you were being kidnapped,” Nadler said.

“You’d be justified in shooting the person to protect yourself,” Nadler added.

Nadler referenced the fatal shooting of Renee Good, the anti-ICE agitator who tried to run over an ICE agent in Minneapolis.

DHS agents also fatally shot Alex Pretti, an armed anti-ICE agitator who impeded an immigration operation and resisted arrest.

“We see people being shot! For what? For driving a car?” Nadler said.

“We see these ICE goons breaking into people’s homes without a warrant. You see them drag out a man – an American citizen in his underwear in the snow without even permitting him to get dressed!” Nadler said.

ICE agents face an 8,000% increase in death threats against them and their family members, the DHS said.

Calls for violence against ICE agents coming from Democrats like Jerry Nadler are contributing to the shootouts and car ramming incidents.

“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a threatening voicemail left for an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minnesota on January 24,” the DHS said.

“Our law enforcement officers are now facing an 8,000% increase in death threats against them and a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against them while they put their lives on the line to remove murderers, pedophiles, rapists, gang members, and terrorists from American neighborhoods,” the DHS said.

TMZ received a ransom note demanding a massive payment – in Bitcoin – for the release of Nancy Guthrie.

84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC’s “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on Saturday night.

The elder Guthrie went ‘missing’ from her Pima County, Arizona, home over the weekend and law enforcement described it as a ‘crime scene.’

Authorities said there are signs of forced entry and blood was found inside the Pima County home.

On Tuesday, police said during a press conference that they have not ruled out a ransom.

“We’re following all leads we have,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said on Tuesday.

“We are sharing all of our leads with the FBI,” he added.

Later Tuesday, TMZ received a ransom not demanding a “substantial” amount of Bitcoin in exchange for the release of Guthrie.

TMZ said the ransom note revealed details about the crime scene.

Another scary twist in the disappearance of “TODAY” host Savannah Guthrie’s kidnapped mother … TMZ has received an alleged ransom note demanding payment for the release of Nancy Guthrie.

The note, which was sent to us Tuesday morning, demands a specific substantial amount of Bitcoin … the amount is in the millions, and the note demands the cryptocurrency be sent to a specific Bitcoin address.

TMZ has verified the Bitcoin address is real.

There is a deadline connected to the alleged ransom … and an element of “or else.”

In the moment on our live stream above, Harvey and Charles said she was wearing an item mentioned in the note. In fact, the note says she was not wearing it.

The alleged ransom note also describes another item the sender says was damaged at her Tucson-area home.

The bill now heads to Trump’s desk, and he is expected to sign it today.

21 Republicans voted against the bill, including Andy Biggs of Arizona, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Eric Burlison of Missouri, Kat Cammack of Florida, Eli Crane of Arizona, Byron Donalds of Florida, Randy Fine of Florida, Brandon Gill of Texas, Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Cory Mills of Florida, Andy Ogles of Tennessee, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Chip Roy of Texas, David Schweikert of Arizona, Keith Self of Texas, Victoria Spartz of Indiana, Greg Steube of Florida, and William Timmons of South Carolina.

21 Democrats also voted in favor.

The bill only funds the Department of Homeland Security until February 13.

Democrats are demanding reforms to ICE including unmasking agents, forcing them to wear body cameras during immigration, and forcing them to obtain warrants from a judge as opposed to administrative warrants against criminal illegal aliens.

On Monday, Kristi Noem announced that the Trump Administration has already partially caved to Democrats’ demands, forcing ICE agents in Minneapolis to immediately wear body-worn cameras, and body cameras will be worn by DHS law enforcement across the country once funding is available. Hopefully, this will show what kind of circumstances ICE agents face when anti-ICE radicals attack them, but it will surely bring more scrutiny to our brave American heroes as they attempt to remove violent criminals from the country.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said he plans to negotiate with Democrats to have the Department of Homeland Security funded before funding lapses.

Per CBS:

Johnson told reporters that any attempt by Democrats to hold up long-term funding for DHS over objections to immigration enforcement would be futile, because ICE and CBP received an influx of money in last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. He said the agencies that would be affected carry out important services like disaster aid and airport security.

“So they have enough funding to go for the next few years,” he said of immigration agencies. “So what they will be tying up, if the Democrats choose to close the government, is these very essential services for everything else – FEMA, Coast Guard, TSA and other aspects of national security.”

The legislation passed last year included $75 billion for ICE and $65 billion for CBP, well beyond their annual allotments.

“This is no time to play games with that funding,” Johnson said. “We hope that they will operate in good faith over the next 10 days.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump on Monday called for Republicans to pass the Senate-passed funding deal without any changes.

“There can be NO CHANGES at this time. We will work together in good faith to address the issues that have been raised, but we cannot have another long, pointless, and destructive Shutdown that will hurt our Country so badly — One that will not benefit Republicans or Democrats. I hope everyone will vote, YES!” Trump said.

On Monday The Gateway Pundit’s Cristina Laila reported that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche fired Ed Martin as Chief of the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group. This was first reported by investigative reporter Paul Sperry.

Last May President Trump tapped Ed Martin to be the US Pardon Attorney after RINO Senator Thom Tillis derailed his nomination for DC US Attorney. He was also personally named by Trump to serve as the Justice Department’s Director of the Weaponization Working Group.

Then on Monday it was reported that Ed Martin was removed from his role as Chief of Weaponization at the DOJ.

A DOJ spokesperson said Ed Martin is still at the Department as the Pardon Attorney.

But there is more to this story.

On Tuesday, Paul Sperry tweeted out a shocking development: That Todd Blanche DID NOT tell the Trump White House that he removed Ed Martin from from the Weaponization Group. This was after President Trump personally hired Ed Martin for the committee.

ICE agents arrested an illegal alien, a New Orleans Police Department recruit, who was illegally given a gun.

Larry Temah, the 46-year-old illegal alien from Cameroon, was just one week away from graduating from the police academy.

The DHS said in a comment to Fox News: “This illegal alien from Cameroon, Larry Temah, is not only breaking the law with every step he takes in this country illegally, but the New Orleans Police Department hired him and issued him a firearm – what kind of law enforcement department gives criminal illegal aliens guns and badges? It’s a FELONY for illegal aliens to even possess a firearm. Sanctuary cities like New Orleans ignore ICE detainers and are protecting illegal aliens at the expense of American citizens.”

ICE confirms to Fox News that they’ve arrested a New Orleans Police Department recruit who they say is an illegal alien from Cameroon with an active deportation order & no work authorization, & they say he was illegally given a gun by New Orleans PD.

ICE says 46-year-old Larry Temah was one week away from graduating the New Orleans PD academy when they arrested him.

They say Temah first entered the US legally in 2015 on a visitor’s visa and was granted conditional residency after marrying a US citizen in 2016. However, in 2022, his application for permanent residency was denied to due to fraud.

ICE says Temah was ordered to appear in immigration court three times, but never did, disregarding US laws, which resulted in an immigration judge ordering him deported in absentia, resulting in his active deportation order.

This is not the first time an illegal alien has been a police department recruit and given an illegal gun.

In October, ICE agents arrested an alleged illegal alien from Montenegro who was a sworn police officer in Hanover Park, Illinois.

Hanover Police later announced they rehired Bojovic.

Bojovic is now an armed police officer after an immigration judge granted him a $2,500 immigration bond two weeks after he was detained.

Migrants flowing across the southern border during the Biden administration have become a trickle under President Donald Trump, according to a new analysis of federal data.

Border Patrol had 237,538 encounters with migrants at the border during the 2025 fiscal year, according to a Pew Research report.

The federal fiscal year begins Oct. 1, which means that roughly four months of the Biden administration are included in the 2025 data.

The data showed a massive drop from full years when former President Joe Biden was in the White House.

Border Patrol racked up 1.5 million encounters in fiscal year 2024, topped 2 million encounters in fiscal year 2023, and had more than 2.2 million encounters in fiscal year 2022.

The 2025 total showed the fewest encounters since 1970.

When the Biden months were factored out of the data, the difference was even more stark.

Since February 2025, the Border Patrol has had fewer than 10,000 encounters per month at the southwestern border.

Those totals are even lower than during the COVID years, and are lower than data on record over the past 25 years.

September 2025 showed 8,386 encounters along the southwest border, an 84 percent drop from September 2024, according to a news release from the House Homeland Security Committee.

“Southwest border apprehensions are at the lowest level in half a century, and criminal cartels are running out of ways to line their pockets at our expense. The Hamburg police and the General Prosecutor’s Office have arrested two shipyard workers: a Romanian and a Greek. They allegedly carried out acts of sabotage on naval ships.

“The accesses took place in Hamburg and in a village in Greece. In addition, apartments of the suspects in Hamburg, Romania and Greece have been searched. The measures were coordinated by Eurojust, which is responsible for cross-border organized crime, in The Hague.

According to the Office of the Public Prosecutor General, the two accused are said to have been arrested several times for the Navy of the United States in 2025 during their work in the Port of Hamburg.”

The Attorney General’s Office says the men could have caused considerable damage to the Ships or caused a delay in their departure.

The investigations will attempt to discover who the clients of the sabotage are.

Enten shared that, despite what Democrats keep saying, 83% of Americans are in favor of it.

John Berman: So voter ID, just so people understand, is the idea that someone shows a photo ID when they go to vote, when they go to cast their actual ballot, because there’s a separate discussion right now about needing a passport or a birth certificate to register to vote. But the polling is all on voter ID showing an ID to vote.

Harry Enten: Showing a photo ID to vote. And the American people are with Nicki Minaj because what are we talking about here? So take a look here. Favor Voter ID to vote. Look, I got all this polling on the screen going back since 2018. You’ll notice on all of it, it’s all north of 75%, 76%, 76%, 76%, 81%, and then 83% in the last year of Americans agree with Nicki Minaj. They favor photo ID to be able to vote.

Harry Enten:  Yeah, normally you might expect, Hey, there’d be a big divide by party with Republicans really for it and Democrats really against it, but not really here.

So again, Nicki Minaj posting that on X.And what you see is that the American people, actually, it’s not really all that controversial. Harry Enten: Okay, what’s the racial breakdown on this? Because I think a lot of people make the argument that people of non-white Americans have a harder time procuring a photo ID to vote.

But even here, take a look here. Favor photo ID to vote. 85% of White people favor it, 82% of Latino, 76% of Black Americans favor it. So the bottom line is this. Voter ID is not controversial in this country.

A photo ID to vote is not controversial in this country.

It is not controversial by party, and it is not controversial by race. The vast majority of Americans agree with Nicki Minaj that, in fact, you should have a photo ID to be able to vote.

Bill and Hillary Clinton agreed to testify before the Oversight Committee after Chairman James Comer moved forward in holding them in criminal contempt of Congress.

“Republicans and Democrats on the Oversight Committee have been clear: no one is above the law—and that includes the Clintons. After delaying and defying duly issued subpoenas for six months, the House Oversight Committee moved swiftly to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings in response to their non-compliance,” Comer said.

“Once it became clear that we would hold them in contempt, the Clintons completely caved and will appear for transcribed, filmed depositions this month,” Comer said.

“We look forward to questioning the Clintons as part of our investigation into the horrific crimes of Epstein and Maxwell, to deliver transparency and accountability for the American people and for survivors,” Comer added.

The Clintons will testify on February 26 and 27.

Police last month arrested Monique Tepe’s ex-husband, Dr. Michael McKee, a vascular surgeon, and charged him with four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary.

Dr. Spencer Tepe, 37, and his wife, Monique Tepe, 39, were found shot to death in their home on December 30 after police conducted a welfare check.

Their two children were found in the home crying, but were not physically harmed.

Police were called to conduct a welfare check after Dr. Tepe, who was known for being punctual, failed to show up to work at Athens Dental Depot.

Athens Dental Depot owner, Dr. Mark Valrose, told 911 dispatchers that Dr. Tepe always shows up to work on time.

Later that day, Dr. Tepe and his wife, Monique, were discovered dead in their home.

New details reveal that Dr. Tepe and his wife were shot multiple times each.

Monique Tepe had bullet wounds to her arms, hands, chest, and one to the head.

Dr. Tepe had bullet wounds to his arms, torso, and also one to the head.

TMZ reported:

Shocking development in the double murder of an Ohio dentist and his wife … she was shot 9 times, and he took 7 bullets … and her ex-husband is charged with their murders.

Monique Tepe took one bullet to the head, three to the chest, one to the ribs, one to the forearm, one to the hand and two her upper arm … according to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

Spencer, meanwhile, took one bullet to the head, one to the neck, three to the torso, and two to his bilateral upper extremities.

Last month police swarmed Stevenson’s home after his wife died amid a domestic dispute.

Police removed several items from the Stevenson home last month.

64-year-old Linda Stevenson, wife of Jill Biden’s ex-husband Bill Stevenson, was found unresponsive after police arrived to the New Castle, Delaware, residence late Sunday night.

According to TMZ, Linda Stevenson was found dead in the living room.

Linda was found unresponsive on the living room floor after officers responded to a home on the 1300 block of Idlewood Road for a domestic dispute call on December 28, 2025. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A harrowing discovery has been made inside the home of Nancy Guthrie, the mom of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, as the famed anchor has broken her silence.

Law enforcement sources informed the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday morning that blood was discovered along with signs of forced entry in Nancy’s house, which is in Catalina Hills, Arizona.

Police have not confirmed at this point whose blood it was.

“At this point, investigators believe she was taken from the home against her will, possibly [in the] middle of the night,” Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Kevin Adger to the LA Times.

“Detectives are looking into a possible kidnapping or abduction,” he added.

As The Daily Mail reported, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos choked up and almost burst into tears Monday night when asked if he thought Nancy was still alive.

“Do you believe you are still looking for Nancy Guthrie alive at this point? That she could be held somewhere? And if so, do you believe that is local in the Tucson area, or that she’s been taken somewhere?” AZFamily host Briana Whitney asked.

An emotional Nanos stumbled on his words as he stated: “You know, we’re just not going to give up hope. We hope she’s out there somewhere.”

As The Gateway Pundit’s Cassandra MacDonald reported, Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie, has been reported missing, and law enforcement described the scene they encountered at her Arizona home as “very concerning.”

Homicide detectives were sent in, which is not standard practice in a missing person case, and Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said that the house is a crime scene.

“She did not leave on her own, we know that,” Nanos said during Sunday’s press conference.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Saturday night, at around 9:30 p.m., near where she lives in the Catalina Foothills.

She was reported missing on Sunday, around noon, by a relative.

Savannah Guthrie posted the following message on Instagram, where she asked for people to pray for her mother’s safe return.

“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant,” she wrote. “Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”

Speaking in support of La France Insoumise (LFI) candidate François Piquemal, Mélenchon addressed critics on the conservative-nationalist right by declaring, “Yes, Mr. Zemmour, yes, Mr. Bayrou, there is a ‘Great Replacement.’” The remark stunned observers, given the French left’s long-standing effort to criminalize or censor the term.

Mélenchon, being the clever politician that he is, attempted to soften the impact by redefining the phrase as a matter of generational change rather than immigration. He said the “Great Replacement” simply described “a generation which comes after another,” calling it a natural process that has existed “since the dawn of time.”

Yet Mélenchon went further, explicitly linking the concept to his party’s political ambitions. He said upcoming municipal elections should demonstrate LFI’s ability to “embody the new France, that of the Great Replacement,” framing demographic transformation as an electoral asset rather than a concern.

Conservative figures immediately saw and highlighted the comments as a blatant admission. Reconquête founder Éric Zemmour said Sunday that Mélenchon had confirmed what critics have argued for years.

“He finally admits it,” Zemmour said. “La France Insoumise is the party of the Great Replacement.” Zemmour added that Mélenchon is openly staking his political future on immigrant-heavy urban districts.

National Rally president Jordan Bardella echoed the criticism, accusing Mélenchon of promoting “community fragmentation” and empowering political Islam under the banner of diversity.

Mélenchon, for his part, responded dismissively on social media, comparing demographic change to leadership succession. “Jean-Marie Le Pen was replaced by you,” he told Bardella, calling it “the mechanism of life.”

The controversy is not confined to France. Across Europe, left-wing parties that once denied demographic change are increasingly reframing it as inevitable—and desirable.

In Spain, leading figures from the radical-left Podemos party have made similar remarks. The video features Irene Montero, a senior figure in Spain’s far-left Podemos, a former equality minister, and a current member of the European Parliament (MEP), speaking at a public event. In her remarks, Montero said she hoped immigration would help “sweep this country of fascists and racists,” language that critics say suggests an intent to reshape the electorate through demographic transformation.

After spreading on X, the footage quickly went viral, amassing more than five million views and becoming a flashpoint in wider European political discussion.

Like Mélenchon, Spain’s radical left has attempted to rebrand these statements as inclusive or progressive, while continuing to label critics as extremists or conspiracists.

Newly elected Democrat Governor Abigail Spanberger is poised to release a savage illegal alien convicted of brutally murdering his own infant sister, and she has no intention of handing him over to federal immigration authorities for deportation.

The monster in question is Alvaro Mejia-Ayala, a 21-year-old (now 22) Salvadoran national who, in September 2025, wrapped a charging cord around the neck of his helpless 8-month-old baby sister in Loudoun County.

The infant was found unresponsive, the white cable still constricting her tiny throat. Despite desperate medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries days later, her young life extinguished in a fit of incomprehensible violence.

Court documents reveal the horror: Mejia-Ayala allegedly told a friend he was “playing” with his sister and “may have killed her” before fleeing the scene.

Police arrested him shortly after, charging him with strangulation — and later, murder — as the baby’s condition deteriorated and she passed away.

During a Fox News segment with Kayleigh McEnany, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin described what she called a direct consequence of Virginia’s sanctuary-style policies following the transition away from cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

To get these immigrants out of the prisons—it is safer for everyone than street operations. So it seems like Spanberger… what, she didn’t get the memo?

Tricia McLaughlin:
I guess she didn’t get the memo, because we had a great partnership with Glenn Youngkin and his team on the ground there to make sure that when these criminal illegal aliens who are in the jails, in their custody, once they serve their time, that we are notified and they can be turned over to ICE to be released back into their own country.

But, Kayleigh, I want to give you one example—and your viewers one example—of a direct response to this. There is an illegal alien that we arrested from El Salvador in September of last year. He was arrested for strangling, with an electric cord, his eight-month-old sister. Oh my goodness—she was killed.

Because of these policies—because of these new sanctuary city policies out of Virginia—once this individual serves his time, he will go back onto Virginia’s streets because we’re not allowed to be notified. That is absolutely heinous, and Virginians are going to be a lot less safe because of this policy.

Kayleigh McEnany:
Tricia, that is insane, what you just told me. And I saw on your Twitter feed that in New York—this is just likewise insane—6,947 illegal aliens with criminal records were just let out onto the streets of New York, right behind me.

That’s exactly right. And we saw the same out of Minneapolis, which, of course, we’re trying to solve for. I’m so glad that Tom Homan is on the ground there, trying to make what are really common-sense deals, because all we’re asking for is state and local cooperation.

I mean, just a couple more of these individuals that we’ve picked up off the street in the last few days, Kayleigh, out of Minneapolis: an individual from Laos, convicted of rape and sexual assault; an individual from Vietnam, convicted of sexual assault, homicide, and negligent manslaughter; another from Laos, convicted of homicide.

These are the people who’ve been walking around Minneapolis with impunity for the last few years, and who ICE—because we’re not allowed into those jails—has had to flood the zone to get these individuals out of the country. That’s what we’re doing in Minneapolis. That’s what we’re going to be doing in New York with those sanctuary city policies.

Under the direction of France’s globalist President Macron, French authorities escalated their confrontation with American tech entrepreneur Elon Musk this week, launching high-profile raids of X’s offices in Paris and summoning Musk himself for what prosecutors termed a “voluntary interview.”

The move marks a dramatic intensification of France’s long-running effort to rein in the America-based free-speech platform.

According to the Paris public prosecutor’s office, the operation was carried out by French cybercrime units with assistance from Europol, targeting the French premises of X. Authorities claim the investigation centers on whether X’s algorithm improperly influenced French political discourse.

Summonses were issued to Musk and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino, calling them to Paris in April 2026 to answer questions related to the probe. Yaccarino, who stepped down last year, is listed alongside Musk as a manager during the period under review.

The investigation was formally opened in January 2025 following complaints filed by French political figures aligned with President Emmanuel Macron’s globalist government. Chief among them was MP Éric Bothorel, who accused X of allowing too much ideological diversity and objected to Musk’s direct involvement in platform governance.

To critics of the French government, of which there is no shortage, that complaint alone revealed the true nature of the case—not criminal enforcement, but political retaliation.
Under Musk’s ownership, X has dismantled many of the vague content controls that once favored left-wing establishment narratives across Europe.

French prosecutors later broadened their inquiry, citing concerns related to X’s AI chatbot Grok, including claims it produced offensive or false content. Musk’s company responded by correcting errors, removing disputed posts, and publicly documenting its moderation actions—steps critics say would have been praised had they come from a European firm.

France’s legal framework, which criminalizes certain forms of speech, has long clashed with America’s First Amendment traditions. That tension now sits at the heart of the transatlantic standoff, as Paris seeks to apply its speech codes to a American-owned platform operating globally.

The timing has also raised eyebrows. The raid comes as right-wing, national-conservative, and anti-globalist parties continue gaining ground across Europe, often using X as a primary channel to bypass legacy media. For Macron’s government, controlling the digital battlefield is increasingly viewed as a political necessity.

Officials close to the investigation insist the probe is purely legal, yet the rhetoric surrounding it suggests otherwise. The Paris prosecutor’s office openly framed the case as ensuring X’s “compliance” with French law—language critics say sounds like ideological enforcement.

Federal agents with the FBI and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department executed a dramatic early-morning raid on a residential property in northeast Las Vegas this weekend after investigators uncovered what appears to be a fully operational illegal biological laboratory inside a private home.

Refrigerators containing unknown liquids and vials of suspected biological material were found inside the residence, prompting an aggressive response from HazMat teams, SWAT units, and FBI specialists due to the potential threat presented by the materials, The Hill reported.

At least one individual was taken into custody in connection with the Las Vegas raid, identified by local officials as a 55-year-old property manager, Ori Solomon.

He is currently booked on felony charges linked to the improper disposal of hazardous waste, though investigators continue to determine the full scope of charges that may arise.

Property records reveal that the Las Vegas home is owned by “David Destiny Discovery, LLC,” according to The Sun.

If that name sounds familiar, it should. It is a shell company registered to Jia Bei Zhu (also known as David He), the very same Chinese national who ran the illegal Reedley, California biolab exposed in 2023.

Zhu, a fugitive from Canada with deep ties to the Chinese government, is currently in federal custody.

The FBI has taken the lead in analyzing the more than 1,000 samples collected from the scene, with evidence transported to federal laboratories for further testing.

Sheriff’s officials report that investigators are proceeding “methodically” to identify the substances and determine whether criminal activity involving biological agents is at play.

Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) is already sounding the alarm, demanding immediate hearings.

“An illegal bio lab was just raided in Vegas. It is directly linked to the secret Chinese lab found in California in 2023, which was oozing with E. Coli, HIV, and Malaria. Congress must pass our bill to find these illegal labs and shut them all down,” Kiley wrote on X.

As The Gateway Pundit reported in 2023, an illegal bio lab was discovered in a believed-to-be vacant building in Reedley, California in Fresno County on March 3.

City code enforcement stumbled upon the building in December 2022 when they discovered a garden hose running up into the building through a hole in the wall.  In March, they obtained a warrant to inspect the property, and in April, the Fresno County Department of Public Health ordered an inspection of the facility.

Investigators inspected the building that contained the lab in July and found a room used to make COVID-19 tests and pregnancy tests.  They also found over 35 freezers and refrigeration units that contained “thousands of bodily fluids, serums, tissues, and other medical items.”

The company alleged to be running the lab, Prestige BioTech, is based out of Nevada and is the successor to Universal Meditech, Inc (UMI).  In Dec. 2022, the FDA announced a recall over 56,000 “Skippack Medical Lab” Rapid Anti-Gen COVID-19 tests distributed by UMI to California and Texas.

Another representative of Prestige BioTech, David He, dodged questions regarding accountability and ownership of the company and whether or not they were properly disposing of the hundreds of dead mice.  Prestige would not confirm if the biologics contained in the lab were theirs.

Prestige BioTech was able to operate 35 freezers and refrigeration devices without anyone questioning the electrical draw that would be required for a building that “was supposed to be vacant,” according to City Manager Nicole Zieba.  When investigators entered the building on July 5th, however, the power to the refrigerators and freezers “was lost” but the biological samples were still frozen.

Court documents show that “48 containers (appx. 44 gallons per container) full of biological material and medical waste” were removed on one day followed by another 31 the next day for a total of 75 containers full of biological material and medical waste.

According to court documents reported by NBC News, “the other addresses provided for identified authorized agents were either empty offices or addresses in China that could not be verified.”

Recent findings indicate that Prestige Biotech, officially registered in Nevada, lacked authorization to operate in California.

City of Reedley code enforcement officials engaged with Xiuqin Yao, identified as the President of Prestige Biotech in emails and legal documents. Yao disclosed that the company was the primary creditor of Universal Meditech (UMI), Inc., a company that filed for bankruptcy. UMI had moved from Fresno to a warehouse in Reedley after an electrical fire and subsequently ceased operations. NBC News reports that Prestige Biotech was not only a creditor to UMI but was also named as its successor in legal filings.

A once-high-ranking executive at a major Chicago safety-net hospital has been taken into custody in Serbia, nearly two years after federal authorities accused him of orchestrating one of the biggest alleged COVID-19 fraud schemes in U.S. history.

Anosh Ahmed, the former chief financial officer of Loretto Hospital, was arrested in Belgrade on Nov. 30, 2025, according to court filings.

Ahmed, who fled the United States after facing initial fraud charges, now remains in Serbian custody as federal prosecutors prepare a formal extradition request.

Per the latest court filing, the United States government first received notice of Ahmed’s arrest in Serbia on Nov. 30, 2025. Shortly after learning of his arrest, the American government told the eastern European country it intended to seek extradition and submitted a formal “extradition package” on Jan. 23.

U.S. officials said they learned on Dec. 30, 2025, that a Serbian court denied Ahmed’s petition to be released to a Belgrade hotel and ordered him to remain in Serbian custody.

As of now, Ahmed’s trial date is set for July 2026, though that’s subject to a pending request by Ahmed’s attorney to push the trial to September 2026, according to the filing.

Ahmed has been accused of orchestrating a “single, widespread scheme to submit more than $800 million in false claims to the United States Health Resources and Services Administration for reimbursement of COVID-19 testing of uninsured individuals,” the filing stated. The scheme unfolded from June 2021 through March 2022, according to the filing, which was submitted by the office of U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois Andrew Boutros.

As part of the scheme, Ahmed and others are accused of accessing personal data of more than 150,000 patients to get reimbursement for COVID-19 tests that were never administered.

Ahmed also came under controversy in the early days of the pandemic when vaccinations first began rolling out on a limited basis. Back in 2021, Ahmed and other Loretto Hospital execs held vaccination events at high-end locations, including watch dealers and Trump Tower in Chicago. That runs in contrast to Loretto’s mission as a safety-net hospital.
