The United States and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday, according to American and Israeli officials, as multiple explosions resounded in Tehran.
The attack followed months of rising regional tensions amid threats by President Trump to attack.
Israel Katz, the Israeli defense minister, announced the strike in a statement, adding that the country would be under a state of emergency. The U.S. and Israeli officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss national security matters.
Three massive explosions were heard in central Tehran, according to the semiofficial news agency Fars. The casualties and targets were not immediately clear. In Israel, air-raid sirens blared across the country, warning Israelis to expect potential Iranian retaliation.
Former President Bill Clinton released a video statement on his Epstein deposition.
On Friday Bill Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee on his connections to Jeffrey Epstein from an office in Chappaqua, New York.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told reporters that Bill Clinton testified that to his knowledge President Trump was not involved with Epstein.
“Trump has never said anything to me to make me think he was involved with Epstein,” Comer said.
Fox News also reported that Bill Clinton’s lawyers stepped in several times to stop him from talking too much during the deposition.
Later Friday evening, a hoarse Bill Clinton broke his silence after his 7-hour deposition.
“I just finished testifying in front of the House Oversight Committee. I did it for two reasons. First, I live my country, including our Constitution. And America was built on the idea that no person is above the law. Even presidents. Especially presidents and that we should all live under the same set of rules,” Bill Clinton said.
“Though my brief acquaintance with Epstein ended years before his crimes came to light, and though I never witnessed during our limited interactions any indication of what was truly going on, I offered the little I do know in hopes that it might prevent anything like this from ever happening again,” Clinton said.
“I know what I saw, and more importantly, what I didn’t see. And I know what I did, and more importantly, what I didn’t do,” Clinton said echoing his opening statement to the Committee.
Bill Clinton also lashed out at the Oversight Committee for deposing Hillary Clinton.
“I also have to say something personal. Republicans made Hillary testify yesterday and she had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein, nothing. She has no memory of even meeting him,” Clinton said.

I watched President Donald Trump’s entire 2026 State of the Union speech. And I loved it! Watching it made me more likely to vote in the midterm elections.
This was the first time I wasn’t bored and actually agreed with everything he had to say. I appreciate his businessman’s approach to the economy and tariffs. I loved that he celebrated the people directly affected by his policy changes and celebrated the economy wins by putting America first.
I am disappointed in all the elected leaders who refused to celebrate the people who have been sacrificed because of the policies brought about by the Biden administration.
The speech improved my opinion of Trump, and I believe he has only the best interests of the United States at the core of all his decisions. I do believe the changes he has made are working, and I wish the Democratic Party would give him the same courtesy they gave the Obama administration with illegal aliens.
It does not need to be this difficult. I believe Trump is trying to make government more transparent and follow the rules.
Government needs to actually represent the people, not politicians’ self interests and agenda. I am actually a registered Democrat, and I was ashamed of how congressional Democrats were acting at the State of the Union ‒ not giving Trump the common courtesy and respect the office of the president deserves.

On CNN’s The Situation Room, chief media analyst Brian Stelter inspired an unintentional laugh riot when he said Paramount’s goal of news that’s “balanced and fact-based….sure sounds a lot like CNN’s mission.”
He also tried to address the maintenance of liberal bias, which he described as “editorial independence” that defines CNN. This is a fraught term, considering CNN didn’t exactly show independence on stories like President Biden’s mental decline — although Jake Tapper caught up after the election.
STELTER: Now, more broadly, CNN employees and viewers have real concern about whether Paramount CEO David Ellison will uphold the editorial independence that CNN is known for. There has been severe political turbulence in recent months, and President Trump has long sought to weaken CNN. Last December, Trump said, quote, it’s imperative that CNN be sold, and now that is what’s happening.
But I can tell you, Ellison has talked in recent months about how he wants to sustain the news business in the United States. And he has talked about his belief that, quote, “the majority of the country longs for news that is balanced and is fact-based.” And, Wolf, that sure sounds a lot like CNN’s mission, a lot of similarities here.

Joe Biden slammed President Trump on Friday evening during a political event in South Carolina.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced a sweeping move to end Department of War attendance at Ivy League and elite universities that have become hotbeds of “woke indoctrination.”
On Friday, Secretary Hegseth announced that the Department of War is OFFICIALLY CUTTING TIES with the woke Ivy League “elites” who have spent decades poisoning the minds of our nation’s future military leaders.
No longer will American taxpayer dollars be used to subsidize institutions that hate the very country our soldiers swear to defend.
“For too long, the Ivy League and similar institutions have been subjecting our warriors to woke indoctrination—those days are over,” the secretary wrote on X.
For years, the radical Left has used professional military education to push a “curriculum of contempt.” Hegseth is putting an immediate stop to it.
Starting in the 2026-2027 academic year, the Department of War will cancel all attendance at institutions including Princeton, Columbia, MIT, Brown, and Yale.
That includes graduate fellowships, professional military education courses, and any Pentagon subsidies that send uniformed officers into programs that do not align with national security priorities.
Hegseth was crystal clear: The mission of the military is to FIGHT AND WIN WARS, not to master “globalist submission” or “social justice activism.”
The decision extends beyond Ivy League campuses. Hegseth has also ordered a top-to-bottom review of all military war colleges and internal Department of War education programs to ensure they refocus on strategic thought, combat readiness, and the foundational principles of the Republic.

Unfortunately, this sacred trust has been broken in this military’s professional military education system. It’s been poisoned from within by a class of so-called elite universities who’ve abused their privilege and access to this department and utterly betrayed their purpose.
For decades, the Ivy League and similar institutions have gorged themselves on a trust fund of American taxpayer dollars, only to become factories of anti-American resentment and military disdain.
They’ve taken our best and brightest—the men and women who pledge their lives to this nation—and subjected them to a curriculum of contempt. They’ve replaced the study of victory and pragmatic realism with the promotion of wokeness and weakness.

The Department of War is finished subsidizing the corruption of our own uniformed class. We’re done paying for the privilege of having our enemies’ wicked ideologies taught to our future leaders.
We’ve had enough. We demand that senior service colleges work to sharpen our warfighters on genuine national security issues—not social justice activism.
We demand curriculums grounded in the founding principles of this Republic—principles that champion the enduring ideals of peace through strength and putting American interests first. We demand universities that invest back into our nation’s prosperity rather than our greatest adversaries.
It’s common sense. No longer will we sit back and treat these woke breeding grounds of toxic indoctrination as valid centers of so-called intellectual curiosity. We cannot and will not continue to send our most capable officers—senior officers—into graduate programs that undermine the very values they have sworn to uphold.
That’s why today, just like we did with Harvard, I’m ordering the complete and immediate cancellation of all Department of War attendance at institutions like Princeton, Columbia, MIT, Brown, Yale, and many others, starting next academic year—2026–2027.
Furthermore, we’re going to hold ourselves accountable as well. In the coming days, I will direct a formal, top-to-bottom review of our own internal war colleges, ensuring they are once again bastions of strategic thought—wholly dedicated to the singular mission of developing the most lethal and effective leaders and warfighters the world has ever known.
As a final message to our warriors: the Ivy League faculty lounges may loathe you. The so-called elite of academia may mock your patriotism and disdain your sacrifice. President Trump stopped at a Whataburger in Corpus Christi, Texas, after he delivered remarks on his energy agenda.
The president traveled to Texas to deliver remarks at the Port of Corpus Christi.

It was unifying. After a six-year investigation, authorities have made arrests in the brutal murder of Fort Hood soldier Gregory Wedel-Morales.
The assistant chief of the Killeen Police Department, Alex Gearhart, announced that two suspects with ties to a gang have been arrested for the 2019 murder of Pvt. Gregory Wedel-Morales.
Darion Lequan Brown, 27, and Darius Demarcus Nobles, 28, were arrested and charged with the murder of Wedel-Morales.
Stars and Stripes reported that Wedel-Morales went missing in August of 2019, and it wasn’t until 10 months later that his remains were found in a field in Killeen, Texas.
An autopsy revealed the soldier was shot in the head, but initial investigations yielded no arrests until new phone records shed light on the case.
Two suspects affiliated with a gang were ordered to “put in work” and murder Fort Hood Soldier Gregory Wedel-Morales in late 2019, an arrest warrant affidavit states.
The Killeen Police Department on Feb. 25, 2025, announced the arrests of Darius Demarcus Nobles, 28; and Darion Lequan Brown, 27, in the death of the Army soldier. Both men will be charged with murder, police said.
The announcement marked a significant development in a Central Texas cold case that remained unsolved for years.
Wedel-Morales was reported missing on Aug. 19, 2019.
Authorities arrested Nobles and Brown after reviewing Wedel-Morales’ phone records.
One of the last calls made to Wedel-Morales’ phone was from a phone that was previously stolen by Brown.
Detectives then questioned Brown about the call, and according to court documents, “Brown stated that he and Nobles are affiliated with a gang and they were instructed to kill Wedel-Morales as a way to ‘put in work.”
In recent years, Fort Hood has been plagued by soldiers going missing and being murdered.
In 2020, Army Spc. Vanessa Guillen was killed in the armory room at Fort Hood by Spc. Aaron Robinson.
Guillen was reported missing for over two months before her dismembered body was discovered near the Leon River.

Two days after Clinton Treasury Secretary Larry Summers announced his resignation from Harvard, where he once presided, another luminary scholar from the elite university is reaping consequences from an extended association with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Today (27), news arose that math professor Martin Nowak, a man once called Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘inside man’ at Harvard, has been put on leave.
This comes after his college bosses learned ‘additional information’ about his links to the convicted sex offender.

Joe Biden crawled out of his hole on Friday and traveled to Columbia, South Carolina for a political event.

Last-minute offer by the Ellison family deemed superior.
Paramount Skydance finally won the bidding war for Warner Bros. Discovery after Netflix pulled out of negotiations, saying it wouldn’t match the 11-hour David Ellison offer for the iconic Hollywood company.
Netflix is declining to raise their bid to buy Warner Bros.
“Netflix pulled the plug on its deal soon after the Warner board of directors said it determined Paramount’s $31-per-share offer for the entire company was superior to Netflix’s bid for Warner’s movie and television studios and HBO Max streaming service. Paramount is now poised to take control of the entertainment company, home to properties and brands including HBO, Superman and Harry Potter.
‘We’ve always been disciplined, and at the price required to match Paramount Skydance’s latest offer, the deal is no longer financially attractive, so we are declining to match’, Netflix co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters said in a statement. ‘This transaction was always a ‘nice to have’ at the right price, not a ‘must have’ at any price’, the pair said.”
Once the acquisition is approved by regulators, Paramount will own Warner Bros, HBO and many popular cable networks such as CNN, TNT, TBS and Food Network.

Pakistan has declared it is in “open war” with Afghanistan’s Taliban government following a gradual escalation of tensions and cross-border clashes along the disputed Durand Line. Under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq (“Righteous Fury”), Pakistan launched airstrikes in response to what it called “unprovoked firing” from across the border.
Pakistani forces targeted at least 22 locations, including Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Nangarhar, Khost, and Paktika, saying they struck Taliban headquarters, ammunition depots, logistics bases, and other key military installations. Explosions were reported in Kabul.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said Afghan forces had launched “large-scale offensive operations” against Pakistani military positions in response to earlier Pakistani airstrikes. Afghan officials said they attacked Pakistani border troops in retaliation and claimed their drones successfully hit military targets inside Pakistan, though Islamabad said any drones were intercepted by anti-drone systems without damage.
Casualty figures are sharply disputed. Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said at least 274 Taliban fighters were killed and more than 400 injured since the operation began, while 12 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 27 wounded. Pakistan’s information minister gave a lower Taliban death toll of 133 and said two Pakistani soldiers were killed.
Afghanistan’s Taliban government claims 55 Pakistani soldiers were killed, eight Taliban fighters died, and 11 were injured. Kabul also said 13 civilians were wounded in a reported Pakistani strike on a refugee camp in Nangarhar and claimed to have captured Pakistani soldiers, which Islamabad denies.
Pakistan’s defense minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said Islamabad had exhausted diplomatic options and would now take “decisive action,” blaming the Taliban for instability and terrorism. Asif accused the Taliban of turning Afghanistan into an Indian “colony,” exporting terrorism, and aligning with India, framing the conflict as a response to security threats and India’s growing ties with Kabul.
Mujahid said Afghanistan wants the fighting resolved through dialogue but warned it would respond to further Pakistani actions. Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Afghanistan would defend itself and urged Pakistan to change its policies and pursue good neighborly relations.
The fighting marks a major escalation since a ceasefire brokered by Qatar and Turkey in October temporarily halted deadly border clashes. Several rounds of negotiations in Doha and Istanbul failed to secure a lasting agreement, with disputes over ceasefire implementation, border mechanisms, and trade crossings. Since the Taliban returned to power in 2021, relations have deteriorated as violence surged on both sides.
At the center of the conflict is the 1,600-mile Durand Line, drawn in 1893 and recognized internationally as Pakistan’s border but rejected by Afghanistan. The colonial-era frontier divides Pashtun communities and has long been a source of friction.
Both sides accuse each other of failing to control militant activity along the border. Islamabad accuses Kabul of harboring Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants who carry out attacks inside Pakistan, as well as Baloch separatists in Balochistan. The Taliban deny responsibility and say Pakistan’s security problems are internal. Analysts note that this is the first time Pakistan has directly targeted Taliban government sites rather than only alleged TTP positions.
Broader regional rivalries have compounded the crisis. India strongly condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes, accusing Islamabad of trying to externalize its internal failures. India has recently strengthened ties with the Taliban, while Pakistan alleges that India funds anti-Pakistan groups in Afghanistan and inside Pakistan, a charge New Delhi denies.
Pakistan also accuses India of waging a proxy war in coordination with the Taliban, while India has increased diplomatic outreach to Kabul in what analysts describe as an “enemy of my enemy” approach as Islamabad’s influence in Afghanistan wanes.
International reaction has centered on restraint and dialogue. The United Nations expressed deep concern, with Secretary-General António Guterres urging compliance with international law, particularly international humanitarian law, and prioritizing civilian protection. The UN human rights chief called for urgent political dialogue amid concerns about rising civilian casualties.
The UK foreign secretary urged de-escalation and a return to mediated talks. Iran called for dialogue and restraint during Ramadan and offered to facilitate talks. Russia urged an immediate halt to cross-border attacks and offered to mediate if both sides agree. Türkiye and Qatar called for de-escalation, and China said it had been mediating through its own channels and was willing to play a constructive role.
The conflict carries significant regional security implications. Pakistan and India are nuclear-armed states, and Afghanistan has historically been a hub for global jihadist movements. Militarily, the balance is highly asymmetrical. Pakistan fields more than 600,000 active personnel, thousands of armored vehicles, and hundreds of combat aircraft, alongside nuclear weapons.
The Taliban are estimated to have around 172,000 fighters and limited air capabilities, possessing a small number of aircraft and helicopters with uncertain operational status. Analysts warn that the imbalance could lead to unconventional warfare, including increased terrorist attacks inside Pakistan’s major cities.

Troy Nehls (R-TX), who argued that Trump’s silence in the race is an endorsement of Paxton to replace Cornyn. “When you don’t endorse a 24-year incumbent, what does that say to you?” he said to reporters.

Bill Clinton is testifying before the House Oversight Committee on his connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told reporters that Bill Clinton testified that to his knowledge President Trump was not involved with Epstein.
“Trump has never said anything to me to make me think he was involved with Epstein,” Comer said.

“No matter how many photos you show me, I have two things that at the end of the day matter more than your interpretation of those 20-year-old photos. I know what I saw, and more importantly, what I didn’t see,” Clinton said.
“I know what I did, and more importantly, what I didn’t do,” he added. “I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong.”
“As someone who grew up in a home with domestic abuse, not only would I not have flown on his plane if I had any inkling of what he was doing — I would have turned him in myself and led the call for justice for his crimes, not sweetheart deals,” Clinton added.
Bill Clinton also defended his wife Hillary.
“I have to get personal. You made Hillary come in. She had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing. She has no memory of even meeting him,” he said.
President Trump earlier Friday defended Bill Clinton.

President Trump on Friday suggested a “friendly takeover” of Cuba could be underway as his administration squeezes the Cuban government with an oil blockade.
While speaking to reporters as he departed the White House to deliver remarks on energy in Corpus Christi, Texas, Trump floated the idea of a takeover.
“Maybe we’ll have a friendly takeover of Cuba,” Trump said. “We could very well end up having a friendly takeover of Cuba.”
“They’re in big trouble,” Trump continued. “You know, we have people living here that want to go back to Cuba, and they’re very happy with what’s going on.”

Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna believed that the disgraced financier was not merely a predator, but the epicenter of a foreign intelligence-gathering “honey pot” operation, and that key women connected to his network should be questioned as co-conspirators in child sex trafficking.
Based on fresh testimony and files uncovered in the House Oversight Committee’s probe, Luna declared that the notorious sex trafficker was operating a sophisticated “honey pot” intelligence-gathering scheme, likely designed to blackmail powerful politicians and business leaders for economic and political leverage.
Luna, who has been at the forefront of this investigation as part of her role leading a task force on government secrets, didn’t mince words in her post on X:
“Based on our congressional investigation it is my professional opinion that Jeffrey Epstein was running a honey pot operation. I am calling on Oversight to bring these 4 women in for questioning as co-conspirators to child sex trafficking.”
During a fiery press conference following former President Bill Clinton’s closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee, Luna elaborated on her findings.
“What I will say is it has become very evident, even in the last 24 hours, through lines of questioning, that Jeffrey Epstein was running an intelligence-gathering operation. In my professional opinion, I do believe it was a honeypot operation,” Luna said.
She went further, suggesting that Epstein’s web extended to targeting high-profile figures like the Clintons themselves for sensitive economic intelligence.
“I do believe that Jeffrey Epstein was targeting many politicians, many influential people, especially in regards to economic policy,” Luna added. “I do believe that it was possible that not just (Bill Clinton), but Secretary Clinton as well as a number of other people were targeted.”
But Luna didn’t stop at vague accusations. She named names, calling out four women she believes were active participants in Epstein’s child sex trafficking network, not victims.
“I do believe that there’s a list of individuals who did engage in trafficking, were given these plea deals, and I’m going to name those individuals right now. The first one would be Leslie Groff, the second one, Sarah Kellen. The third one, Nadia Marcinkova. And the fourth one, Adriana Ross. All of these women engaged in the trafficking of minors as adults. They were working and complicit with Jeffrey Epstein’s operation. In my opinion, they are not to be given victim status because they did partake in harming young girls.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Jimmy’s response to the Huffington Post on Sunday after the far-left rag trashed the Team USA Olympic hockey team and Americans who celebrated their victory.
“If waving the American flag or chanting ‘USA!’ turns you off right now, you’re not alone,” the paper wrote on X, sharing an article about how Americans would be right to feel “national shame.”
And Jimmy’s responded with an absolute gem, telling the paper to “go f*ck yourself” in a comment that received over 17 million views and 100 times more likes than HuffPost’s original tweet.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has urged staffers at the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem to leave today.
In an email sent out to staff at the U.S. embassy, Huckabee wrote, “Those wishing to take AD (Authorized Departure) should do so TODAY.”
Huckabee further wrote, “While there may be outbound flights over the coming days, there may not be.”
The Ambassador’s announcement comes as tension with Iran has increased in recent weeks, as the U.S. military has built up its largest force of warships and aircraft in the Middle East since the Iraq War.
On February 27, 2026, the Department of State authorized the departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel and family members of U.S. government personnel from Mission Israel due to safety risks.
The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem implemented “authorized departure” status for non-essential personnel and family members, which means that eligible staffers can leave the country voluntarily at government expense.
The U.S. Embassy in Israel on Friday told its staff that it could leave the country and urged anyone considering departure to do so immediately.
In an email U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee urged staff considering departure to do so quickly, advising them to to focus initially on getting any flight out of Israel and to then make their way to Washington.
“Those wishing to take AD should do so TODAY,” Huckabee wrote, using an acronym for “authorized departure.”
Huckabee’s statement came shortly after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced he is scheduled to visit Israel on Monday regarding matters relating to Iran and the 20-Point Peace Plan for Gaza.
The U.S. Embassy is not the only embassy calling for its citizens to depart the region.
Reuters reported that China, on Friday, urged its citizens in Iran to evacuate immediately, citing escalating tensions between the United States and Iran.
Vice President JD Vance, on Thursday, told The Washington Post on the topic of potential armed conflict with Iran, shared, “I think we all prefer the diplomatic option, but it really depends on what the Iranians do and what they say.”
Last Thursday, President Trump threatened to escalate military tensions with Iran within the next ten days if they don’t make a deal regarding deconstructing their nuclear enrichment program.
The 10-day warning Trump gave will end on March 1.
Pro-Trump lawyers are reportedly trying to persuade President Trump and his team to go all-out to secure America’s elections this year by invoking an unprecedented executive order, and they may soon get their wish.
As The Daily Mail reported, attorneys with ties to Trump are talking with the White House over an election plan, citing “an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.”
Attorneys close to Donald Trump are urging the President to declare a national emergency that would allow him to take sweeping powers over the crucial midterm elections.
Peter Ticktin, who has known Trump since they attended New York Military Academy together and represented him in court, is part of a group of pro-Trump lawyers in communication with the White House over the election plan.
He and his allies argue in a 17-page draft of a presidential executive order that supposed Chinese interference in the 2020 presidential election allows Trump to declare such an emergency.
‘There is now clear and compelling evidence from court cases and forensic analysis that these threats have not been mitigated but instead have intensified,’ the draft reads. ‘This constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.’
As The Mail notes, this order would allow President Trump to mandate voter ID nationwide, ban vote-by-mail, and require ballots to be counted by hand.
ABC News reports that Trump has reviewed the order, and the lawyers expect executive action soon.
This news also comes as the SAVE Act, a critical election security bill Trump is backing, has stalled in the Senate thanks to a handful of RINOS sabotaging the MAGA movement in its quest to stop Democrats from stealing any more federal elections.
A White House official responded to the report about an election executive order, telling ABC that “a variety of outside advocates who want to share their policy ideas with the President. Any speculation about policies the President may or may not announce is just that — speculation.”
White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson also issued a non-denial when asked for comment.
“President Trump is committed to ensuring that Americans have full confidence in the administration of elections, and that includes totally accurate and up-to-date voter rolls free of errors and unlawfully registered non-citizen voters,” Jackson told The Washington Post.
“The President has urged Congress to pass the SAVE Act and other legislative proposals that would establish a uniform standard of photo ID for voting, prohibit no-excuse mail-in voting, and end the practice of ballot harvesting,” she added.
One question that remains unanswered is how such an order can survive legal challenges. Changes to voting laws have generally been implemented via the legislative process.
One exception to this rule was during COVID, when states ignored their own constitutions to push mass mail-in voting via executive action in some cases.
But Ticktin remains undeterred, citing the critical moment our nation faces.
“We have a situation where the President is aware that there are foreign interests that are interfering in our election processes,” Ticktin explained to The Washington Post. “That causes a national emergency where the President has to be able to deal with it.”

Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter and now CEO of Block, has announced that Block will lay off nearly half its employees to implement more AI tools across its tech platforms.
Block, which owns Cash App and Square, will cut 4,000 employees, which makes up 40% of its employees.
In a memo issued by Dorsey, he wrote, “We’re reducing our organization by nearly half, from over 10,000 people to just under 6,000.”
Block CFO Amrita Ahuja followed up on Dorsey’s memo by adding, “We see an opportunity to move faster with smaller, highly talented teams using AI to automate more work.”

Block, the financial technology company that owns Square, Cash App and Tidal, said on Thursday that it was cutting 40 percent of its work force as it embraced new artificial intelligence tools.
About 4,000 employees are expected to lose their jobs, Jack Dorsey, the company’s top executive, said in a social media post.
The cuts, made as Block reported strong financial results for its most recent quarter, are perhaps the most striking example so far of a technology company’s making plans to eliminate employees because of A.I.
Mr. Dorsey wrote in his post that he wanted to act decisively rather than “cut gradually over months or years as this shift plays out.”

Billions of dollars of fraud occurred under Tim Walz’s watch, and now it turns out that autism centers did not even require licensing and that state officials were not allowed to conduct unannounced inspections.
The question now is whether Tim and other Minnesota officials were simply ignorant of what was happening, or whether they actively supported, enabled, or even participated in this fraud of epic proportions.
Money tied to Minnesota’s Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention program surged from about $1.7 million in Medicaid reimbursements in 2017 to nearly $229 million in 2024 through late November, with cumulative spending approaching $700 million. That amounts to roughly a 300-fold increase in less than a decade, or about a 30,000 percent rise. While officials cite expanded autism diagnoses and broader access to services, the scale and speed of the increase have raised serious concerns.
Critics argue that a significant portion of this explosion in spending reflects fraud and lax oversight, noting that the growth occurred under Democratic governors. They contend that unchecked fraud drives long-term spending obligations higher, ultimately pressuring the state to raise taxes.
The figures come from Minnesota Department of Human Services data reported by the Minnesota Star Tribune following FBI raids on multiple autism centers as part of investigations into alleged large-scale fraud schemes.
The investigation overlapped with the Feeding Our Future case, in which 70 people were charged with defrauding a federal child nutrition program, and at least a dozen defendants were connected to autism centers.
Prosecutors allege that some parents received kickbacks, which became central to the scandal. Companies such as Smart Therapy LLC in Minneapolis and Star Autism Center in St. Cloud were accused of paying parents between $300 and $1,500 per month in cash to enroll their children.
In exchange, centers billed Medicaid for more than 40 hours per week of one-on-one therapy that was either not provided or performed by untrained 18-year-old relatives with no background in autism care. Authorities also allege widespread billing for “ghost” services, including therapy sessions that never occurred or for implausible numbers of hours.
In the Smart Therapy case, owner Asha Farhan Hassan pleaded guilty in December 2025 to a $14 million autism fraud scheme, admitting to using unqualified high school graduates as behavioral technicians and billing for maximum allowable hours even when no care was provided.
A state-commissioned Optum report later flagged 90% of the claims reviewed as problematic, including those from companies lacking basic operational details such as phone numbers or websites.
The latest development centers on licensing. Before the scandal, Minnesota did not require autism centers to hold a specific state license; providers only had to enroll as Medicaid providers. Under Minnesota Statute 256B.0949, individuals could serve as Level III providers with minimal qualifications: being 18 years old, holding a high school diploma or GED or fluency in a non-English language, completing brief online training modules, and being hired by an enrolled agency.
Lawmakers raised concerns that oversight relied on Qualified Supervising Professionals, but investigations revealed that supervision sometimes existed only on paper. Level III workers were allegedly left alone with children or were relatives billing Medicaid for time spent providing little or no therapeutic services.
After the Feeding Our Future scandal, Gov. Tim Walz and the Department of Human Services identified 14 Medicaid service categories as high risk due to explosive spending growth. Of those 14 programs, six still do not require licensing, a gap lawmakers say made fraud easier to commit. And yet, prior to DHS designating EIDBI as high risk, the state was not legally permitted to conduct unannounced site visits at roughly 500 autism centers statewide.
Now that licensing is required, committee members have expressed frustration over the slow pace of compliance. Of more than 500 previously unlicensed centers, only six have applied ahead of the May 31 deadline.
So far, it does not appear that Tim Walz has been implicated. However, one has to ask how such rampant fraud could be occurring under his nose and expanding at exponential rates under his watch without him knowing. Furthermore, while the state claims to have launched investigations, the lid was blown off this mountain of fraud by content creator Nick Shirley when he uncovered billions in daycare fraud, which brought national attention to the rest of it.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has been clear that pushing DEI will not be tolerated in the military or among groups hoping to maintain relationships with the Pentagon. Now, Scouting America, formerly known as the Boy Scouts, will alter several policies to maintain its relationship.
On February 3rd, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell announced that Scouting America was working with the Department of War on reforms to end DEI and woke gender ideology.
Parnell wrote, “From Day One at the War Department, we have made it very clear: No more DEI at DoW. Zero tolerance.”
“As a result, over the past several months, the Department of War has been reviewing its relationship with Scouting America—formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America. A great organization, that has — in many ways — lost its way.”
“On January 21st, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14173: “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity,” terminating radical DEl preferencing in federal contracting. All of our affiliations must meet this standard.
But, for more than a decade now, Scouting America’s leadership has made decisions that run counter to the values of this administration and this Department of War, including an embrace of DEl and other social justice, gender-fluid ideological stances. This is unacceptable.”
“Our review of the DoW’s financial assistance and partnership with Scouting America, including its quadrennial National Jamboree celebration, has been rigorous and ongoing. Scouting America remains far from perfect, but they have firmly committed to a return to core principles. Back to God and country—immediately!”

The first few words of the Scout oath exemplify this, quote, ‘On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country.'”
“The Boy Scouts are embedded in our communities. They’re sponsored by community organizations, service clubs, and churches. Many Boy Scouts have gone on to senior leadership positions in their communities and business in our nation’s military and has elected representatives in local, state, and national office.”
“Six Boy Scouts have been elected President of the United States. Eleven of the twelve men to walk on the moon? Boy Scouts. Boy Scout training focused on responsible citizenship, character and leadership development, patriotism, personal fitness, self-reliance, faith, and a wide range of outdoor skills. It was a great program, and this department had a close relationship with the Scouts almost since its inception, as many troops meet on military bases.”
“After 2012, however, the Boy Scouts lost their way, and a once great organization became gravely wounded. Diversity, equity, and inclusion, DEI, crept in. The name was changed to Scouting America. “The changes Scouting America made since 2012 have also jeopardized the relationship with this department. And I was very seriously considering ending our support of scouting altogether. We have a Department to protect, after all. Beyond that, the policies Scouting America have in place violate President Trump’s executive order, 14173, entitled ‘Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-based Opportunities.’ But before making this big change, I decided to meet with the current scouting leadership to convey our deep concerns.”
“Based on that face-to-face conversation and subsequent conversations, Scouting America agreed to make several key reforms. Let me briefly highlight a few of them.”
“First, Scouting America has agreed to comply immediately with the provisions of Executive Order 14173. This includes reviewing and replacing politicized, divisive, and discriminatory language throughout the organization, programs, and all publications. No more DEI, zero.”
“Second, the quote, ‘Citizen in Society’ merit badge that encouraged scouts to explore diversity, equity, inclusion, and identity, they always mask it under a name that sounds great, but it’s doing something else, and then ask those scouts to engage in activism on those topics. That badge has been discontinued.”
“Third, Scouting America Scouting will modify its policy to make clear that membership will be based solely on biological sex at birth and not gender identity. That means that the application, any application, will have only two sex designations, male and female, and the application must match the applicant’s birth certificate. Scouting will also make clear that biological boys and girls will not be allowed to occupy or share intimate spaces together, toilets, showers, tents, anywhere like that.”
“Fourth, Scouting America will honor those who serve by waiving the registration fees for children of active duty, guard, and reserve families. Should have happened a long time ago.”
“Fifth, in partnership with the War Department, Scouting America will introduce a new military service merit badge. These and other changes that Scouting America’s leadership committed to, in that room right over there, will hopefully result in a rededication to the foundational ideals that have defined scouting for generations. Duty to God and country, leadership, character, and service. However, as President Reagan famously said, ‘trust but verify.'”
“This agreement is new, and the Department’s support for Scouting America is contingent on them making substantial progress toward reaching these and many other positive changes in the next six months. At that time, we’ll vigorously review progress and decide whether or not to continue our support.”
