The now-deleted image, which Trump shared on Truth Social late Sunday night, depicted the president dressed as Jesus Christ, wearing flowing white robes with a red sash, extending a glowing hand over an elderly man lying weak and bedridden in a hospital bed.

The background included American flags, bald eagles, fighter jets, and a winged creature with horns in the sky.

Trump deleted the post after it drew sharp backlash from some conservatives who labeled it blasphemous.

When asked about the meme Monday at the White House, Trump downplayed it, claiming he thought the image showed him “as a doctor” in a Red Cross context rather than as Jesus.

During Monday evening’s episode of The Daily Show, Stewart paused when the meme appeared on screen.

Zooming in on the bedridden patient, he said, “Oh my God… What the guy in the bed, can I just…”

“Am I okay?”

Stewart continued, “What the f-ck?! I mean, look, I know I don’t have the vigor and spunk of my MTV days. But I didn’t know we were here already. I didn’t realize my look had reached… leper territory.”

“I mean, from the picture, it looks like it was touch and go for a while. Thank God, in my time of need, I was surrounded by family… This is freaking me the f-ck out. I’m just glad that Jesus-Trump brought his healing orb.”

Joe Biden personally wanted Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer as his 2020 running mate, but ultimately went with Kamala Harris because of the Black Lives Matter riots, according to a new profile published in The Atlantic.

The revelation comes from an in-depth piece on Whitmer as a potential 2028 Democratic presidential contender, which details the behind-the-scenes dynamics of Biden’s vice-presidential vetting process.

Whitmer had risen to national prominence in 2020 for her aggressive and authoritarian response to the COVID-19 pandemic and her public clashes with President Donald Trump.

By summer 2020, Whitmer was actively being vetted for the VP spot.

Whitmer was the first finalist to meet with Biden in person in Delaware in August 2020.

Insiders said she got along well with Biden and was prepared to accept the position if offered.

A former senior staffer for Whitmer told The Atlantic, “The moment called for a black running mate,” explaining the intense pressure on Biden following the nationwide riots after the death of George Floyd.

Whitmer later claimed she felt a “sigh of relief” that the call never came, as she preferred to remain governor of Michigan.

Biden had publicly pledged to select a woman as his running mate. Whitmer was seen as a strong ideological and geographic fit. However, multiple outlets at the time reported that black Democratic leaders and activists urged Biden to choose a black woman, with some warning that picking Whitmer could cost him support in key states like Michigan.

Whitmer went on to campaign vigorously for the Biden-Harris ticket and continued supporting Biden through his 2024 reelection bid until he withdrew.

Parents, students, and the community in Montgomery County, Maryland, have been left rattled after graffiti honoring the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooter, Adam Lanza, was discovered on Bradley Hills Elementary School over the weekend.

The graffiti, which read “RIP Adam Lanza,” was found painted on a fence at the elementary school on Saturday.

In 2012, Lanza shocked and saddened the world when he carried out the Sandy Hook massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, murdering 20 first-grade children and six adults before taking his own life.

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) immediately notified families in a letter sent to the Bradley Hills Elementary community.

MCPS Chief of Schools Dr. Peter O. Moran wrote:

“Today, graffiti was discovered on a fence at Bradley Hills Elementary School that included the name of the perpetrator of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting in 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut. To be clear, the use of the name of an individual responsible for such a heinous act, one that involved the loss of life of young school children, can only be interpreted as an act intended to intimidate and cause fear within the Bradley Hills School community, and the broader neighborhood and community, too.”

Dr. Moran added that the “despicable act” would be met with a “substantial and uniform response” from MCPS and the Montgomery County Police Department.

School staff documented the graffiti, and a building services team removed it before the end of Saturday evening.

This latest act of vandalism comes just days after another alarming incident at the same school, an outdoor storage shed on the grounds was intentionally set on fire earlier in the week.

Police and school officials are investigating whether the two events are connected.

Security camera footage from the school has been turned over to investigators.

No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been announced.

In response to the incidents, authorities have increased patrols around the school, with additional police and MCPS security presence planned for Monday morning when students return.

Dr. Moran emphasized, “We understand how both of these incidents are extremely unsettling and concerning for students, families, staff, and neighbors. Please know that school leaders, security team members, and our law enforcement partners are taking this very seriously.”

Isabelle Aurelia Valdez, 15, who court documents and police reports identify as transgender and goes by the name “Jimmy,” allegedly stalked the victim for months because he reminded her of Lanza.

According to Altamonte Springs Police reports and court filings, Valdez planned to lure the boy into an upstairs bathroom during his second-period class, push him into a stall, slash his throat or stab him in the stomach, drink his blood, and place flowers on his body.

Valdez is said to have believed the act would create a “blood bond” that would resurrect Lanza.

Her 14-year-old best friend, Lois Lippert, allegedly helped by bringing flowers to school and sharpening the knife in the bathroom. The pair also gathered gloves, trash bags, wipes, cigarettes, and a lighter for the ritual.

The pair was busted when an anonymous tip was submitted through a school safety tip line in January.

A mass shooting took place inside a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Union Township, New Jersey, on Saturday night, and witnesses report that it was done by a “group” of masked men.

The shooting left one person dead and at least six others injured, according to multiple law enforcement and media reports.

The incident took place around 8:40 p.m., and witnesses described chaos as a group of masked gunmen entered the busy fast-food restaurant, went behind the counter, and opened fire.

According to a report from NJ.com, a man whose girlfriend works at the restaurant said that a group of men entered, went directly behind the counter, and fired multiple shots.

Another eyewitness, the father of an employee, told the local news that his son called him in a panic, reporting that multiple masked suspects had stormed inside and that several co-workers were injured.

He described the scene inside as a “warzone.”

Law enforcement officers arrived quickly and found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

An officer could be heard on the police scanner saying, “I’ve got one shot in the face and at least two in the leg.”

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the others were transported to nearby hospitals.

The exact conditions of the surviving victims have not been publicly released.

A large police presence remained at the scene into the early morning hours, with the restaurant placed on lockdown.

Officers were seen canvassing the parking lot, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing surveillance footage.

Union Police and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office are leading the investigation.

Lauren Farinas, a spokeswoman for the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, said in a statement, “This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.”

No information has been released regarding the number of suspects, their identities, a possible motive, or any arrests.

Critics on social media slammed Carpenter for being “rude,” “ignorant,” and even “Islamophobic,” claiming she disrespected the fans’ culture by not happily tolerating the loud disruption at her own concert.

As the mob continued to come after her, Carpenter folded and posted a groveling apology on X.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced Saturday that she is filing a motion to expel California Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell from Congress.

The announcement was made one day after explosive rape, sexual assault, and misconduct allegations from multiple women, including a former staffer, as well as the release of graphic videos showing Swalwell in compromising sexual situations with a woman who is not his wife.

In a post on X, Luna stated plainly, “I am filing a motion to expel Eric Swalwell from Congress.”

Luna later followed up with a video of herself discussing the matter on Fox News, extending a call to any alleged victims to contact her office, and questioning whether Democrats would vote to protect him.

Four women have now made allegations against the California gubernatorial candidate, including a former staffer who said that he raped her on two separate occasions.

The former staffer alleged that Swalwell pursued her while she was employed and sent her explicit images. She claims he sexually assaulted her twice when she was too intoxicated to consent, once in 2019 in a hotel room while she worked for him, and again in 2024 after she left his office at a New York gala event.

The woman described waking up bruised and bleeding after one incident and stated she had blacked out.

Three additional women described various forms of sexual misconduct, including unwanted sexual advances, unsolicited explicit messages, and sending nude photos.

Swalwell has denied all the allegations, calling them false and politically motivated.

The congressman is currently a leading candidate for California governor, but the scandal has triggered staff resignations and calls for him to exit the race, including from Nancy Pelosi.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has also launched an investigation into the alleged rape.

The controversy intensified on Saturday when Martin Shkreli and Jack Posobiec released videos appearing to show Swalwell in explicit encounters with a woman who is not his wife.

According to Shkreli, he was told the woman is a prostitute and that the video was taken inside Swalwell’s home.

Posobiec, senior editor at Human Events, obtained and released what he described as video footage of Swalwell taken moments after Shkreli’s initial clip.

Posobiec posted the new video along with a digital forensics report attesting to its authenticity. He also referenced a broader “sex party” context and hinted that other elected Democrats from the West Coast may have been present and captured on video.

Radical anti-ICE protesters gathered Saturday afternoon outside a federal immigration detention facility in Broadview, Illinois, and turned their protest into a bizarre, X-rated carnival featuring hundreds of colorful dildos.

The protest, if you can even call it that, captured on video by journalist Ford Fischer, was part of a coordinated national “F*ck ICE” day, dubbed “Operation Dildo Blitz,” that saw left-wing activists across the country weaponize sex toys in a desperate bid to disrupt President Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts.

Protesters chanted “F*CK ICE!” while harassing, and in some cases assaulting, police officers guarding the facility.

Some of the unhinged leftists hurled dildos over the barricades at law enforcement, prompting organizers to desperately yell, “Do not throw the c-cks!” as the vulgar projectiles flew.

The lowest point of the spectacle came when protesters organized a series of twisted sex toy carnival games in front of the ICE facility.

The “carnival” included a dildo piñata, “Pin the poop sticker on the Trump official,” and three-legged races where pairs of protesters were cuffed at the ankles with plastic restraints and forced to hold a dildo between them while racing for a “dildo trophy.”

The video shows the crazy scene unfolding in broad daylight as participants waved signs, stuck dildos into the chain-link fence surrounding the facility, and generally made fools of themselves.

This Illinois protest was no isolated stunt. It was explicitly coordinated as part of a nationwide “Operation Dildo Blitz” launched on Saturday, with organizers promising to distribute over 10,000 dildos to participants at ICE facilities across the country.

The tactic originated in Minneapolis in February during “Operation Dildo Blitz” protests against ICE operations at the Whipple Federal Building.

There, demonstrators threw hundreds of dildos at federal vehicles, stuck them in fences, and even pelted their own supposed supporters with the sex toys.

The bizarre protests led to dozens of arrests and went viral after footage showed pink and purple dildos sailing through the air at government SUVs.

As the filthy carnival was taking place, Turning Point USA reporter Savannah Hernandez was assaulted outside the Whipple Building, with fists and dildos.

A viral TikTok video is sparking widespread mockery after a user declared that maintaining a nice, manicured grass lawn is “racist” and “based in white supremacy.”

The clip, posted earlier this week by TikTok user @softchaoschannel (who goes by JustJaim and uses she/they pronouns), opens with the bold claim, “I can’t stop thinking about how grass lawns are racist and like, based in white supremacy.”

She continued, “If that doesn’t make sense, that’s okay, I guess. It seems really obvious to me. It’s really upsetting. Bring back weeds, bring back clover yards. Can anything just be okay in its natural state, or do we just have to whitewash everything, make it a competition and use it as a sign of your worth as a human being in society? Like, can we just have weeds?”

The activist frames perfectly kept lawns as symbols of “control,” “dominating nature,” and a “uniform, colonial aesthetic,” tying them to broader accusations of systemic racism and suggesting that letting yards grow wild with weeds is the more enlightened choice.

Commenters fired back with lines such as “I’ve never heard my lawn say an unkind word about anyone” and “This lady is just venting ‘cause she got a letter from her HOA.”

This latest theory is not entirely new, as the Post Millennial pointed out.

A 2020 Sierra Club article noted that young people on TikTok and other platforms were already sharing “anti-lawn memes” that criticized grass yards for lacking biodiversity, requiring excessive water and chemicals, and allegedly symbolizing “racial exclusion” through historical HOA rules that once barred sales to people of color.

In the grand tradition of progressive activism finding racism in the most ordinary corners of daily life, this claim fits right in.

Leftist activists and diversity trainers have previously labeled a long list of everyday behaviors and concepts as rooted in “white supremacy,” including:

• Objective mathematics: Accused by some activists of upholding white supremacy in education debates.

Vice President JD Vance held a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday evening, confirming that the United States and Iran have failed to reach a final agreement following intense, direct negotiations.

After more than 21 hours of talks mediated in Pakistan, the highest-level direct U.S.-Iran negotiations since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Vance stated unequivocally that the Iranian regime refused to accept America’s core demands and red lines.

“We’ve been at it now for 21 hours, and we’ve had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians. That’s the good news,” Vance said. “The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. And I think that’s bad news for Iran much more than it’s bad news for the United States of America.”

The vice president added, “So we go back to the United States having not come to an agreement.”

Vance, who led the U.S. delegation alongside special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, made it clear that the U.S. laid out its non-negotiable positions on Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missiles, support for terrorist proxies, and full compliance regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

“We’ve made very clear what our red lines are, what things we’re willing to accommodate them on, and what things we’re not willing to accommodate them on, and we’ve made that as clear as we possibly could,” Vance said. “Iran may have chosen not to accept our terms.”

When asked which terms Iran wouldn’t budge on, Vance would not provide specifics.

“Well, I won’t go into all the details because I don’t want to negotiate in public after we negotiated for 21 hours in private,” Vance said. “But the simple fact is that we need to see an affirmative commitment that they will not seek a nuclear weapon, and they will not seek the tools that would enable them to quickly achieve a nuclear weapon. That is the core goal of the President of the United States, and that’s what we’ve tried to achieve through these negotiations.”

Despite the lack of a deal, Vance appears to remain optimistic that Iran will eventually come back to the table under the weight of American economic and military pressure.

The vice president noted that the ball is now firmly in Tehran’s court.

“The Iranians decided not to accept our terms,” Vance reiterated.

The vice president said that a firm, verifiable Iranian commitment to never develop a nuclear weapon remains a requirement for any lasting deal. Iran’s refusal to provide that assurance is what ultimately stalled progress, according to reports.

The talks in the Pakistani capital followed the announcement of a two-week ceasefire. The U.S. delegation is now returning home.

“The President told us, you need to come here in good faith and make your best effort to get a deal. We did that, and unfortunately we weren’t able to make any headway,” Vance said.

Trump warned of devastating consequences if the regime did not negotiate in good faith.

A 28-year-old man from Rancho Cucamonga was arrested Friday morning after he allegedly set multiple intentional fires inside the busy Ontario Mills Mall in Ontario, California, forcing a full evacuation and temporary closure of the shopping center.

The crazy scene was captured on video by witnesses.

Ontario Police officers responded around 10:30 a.m. on Friday to reports of a suspicious male carrying a lighter and a backpack who was intentionally igniting fires inside the mall.

Callers described the suspect actively setting blazes in several stores, including the True Religion outlet and Nordstrom Rack.

Officers quickly located the suspect, identified as Luis Javier Gallegos Jr., inside the True Religion store.

Footage shared on social media shows flames burning in the store as police confront and take Gallegos into custody after he failed to comply with commands.

According to a press release from the Ontario Police Department, “One officer received non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and was later treated and released from a local medical center. ”

Gallegos was also injured and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

After medical clearance, Gallegos was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on an arson-related felony charge.

Explosive detection K-9 teams swept the mall as a precaution, but no additional threats were found.

Fire crews extinguished the fires with no reported injuries to shoppers or mall employees.

The mall remained closed for the rest of the day.

No motive has been released by authorities, and the investigation remains ongoing.

This incident comes days after a separate large warehouse fire in Ontario that led to arson charges against another suspect, though police have not linked the two cases.

In a lengthy post, the president slammed claims by the “Fake News Media” that Iran is winning the war, declaring instead that the Islamic Republic is “LOSING, and LOSING BIG!”

Trump began, “The Fake News Media has lost total credibility, not that they had any to begin with. Because of their massive Trump Derangement Syndrome (Sometimes referred to as TDS!), they love saying that Iran is ‘winning’ when, in fact, everyone knows that they are LOSING, and LOSING BIG!”

Trump explained that while the world benefits from a reopened and secure strait, empty oil-carrying ships from multiple nations are now steaming toward U.S. ports to load up on American oil rather than relying on Middle Eastern supplies.

“Very interestingly, however, empty Oil carrying ships from many Nations are all heading to the United States of America to LOAD UP with Oil. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president concluded.

Several US Navy ships were seen crossing the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most strategically important chokepoints in the world.

It serves as the primary route for oil tankers exiting the Persian Gulf, with roughly 20 percent of global oil trade normally passing through it, approximately 20 million barrels per day before the conflict.

Iranian mining and threats had severely disrupted traffic, creating a backlog that threatened global energy prices and supply chains.

Actress Natasha Lyonne, star of Russian Doll, Orange Is the New Black, and the current season of HBO’s Euphoria, has claimed she was “detained” by ICE after she was removed from a red-eye Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York City, but the Department of Homeland Security has flatly rejected her tale.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, hours after Lyonne attended the Season 3 premiere of Euphoria in Hollywood.

According to multiple eyewitness accounts first reported by Page Six, the 47-year-old actress appeared “out of it” while seated in the Delta One first-class cabin.

When flight attendants asked her to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt for takeoff, she did not respond.

The plane taxied back to the gate, and Lyonne was asked to deboard.

A Delta staffer inquired if she needed medical attention. She reportedly seemed confused about her location, asked where she was, and was told the flight had not yet left Los Angeles.

The captain later apologized to passengers for the more than an hour-long delay, explaining that one passenger “didn’t seem up to the task tonight.”

On Friday, Lyonne claimed that she was detained by ICE.

The actress wrote that she had taken a Lunesta sleeping pill once seated “to ensure some shut eye on the Delta One red eye flight to NYC.” She claimed she had been “eager for a nap” so she could arrive “bushy tailed & beauty rested” for a scheduled appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Instead, she said, “I guess ICE had other plans & I was detained instead. Sign of the times, I guess.”

She added thanks to fans, noted she had “never had a problem” with Delta or TSA before,” and offered an apology to delayed travelers and “our unpaid TSA workers.”

It is important to note that TSA workers are not being paid because funding is being held up by the Democrat politicians she supports.

The official told Variety, “Neither ICE nor TSA escorted or detained Natasha Lyonne.”

The article, while blasting Trump for “disparaging comments about Haitian immigrants,” used softened language to describe the crime and did not mention the killer’s illegal status even once.

On April 3, 40-year-old Rolbert Joachin, a Haitian national who entered the United States illegally, brutally murdered 51-year-old Nilufar Yasmin outside a Chevron gas station in Fort Myers, Florida, where she worked as a clerk.

Surveillance video captured Joachin smashing the windshield of Yasmin’s car with a hammer before she confronted him. He then repeatedly struck her in the head with the weapon, bludgeoning her to death in broad daylight.

Authorities said the attack was calculated, and Joachin later told detectives he went to the gas station specifically to kill her.

Yasmin was a mother of two teenage daughters and a recent immigrant from Bangladesh.

Members of the local Bangladeshi community described her as a devoted, kind woman who had been working at the store for only a few months.

Joachin, who is homeless, was arrested the same day with assistance from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He faces a first-degree murder charge and is being held without bond.

In court, Joachin reportedly confessed to details of the premeditated attack.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Joachin entered the U.S. illegally by boat in August 2022 during the Biden administration.

Joachin was released into the country despite a removal order and later shielded from deportation under the Biden-era expansion of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians.

“This illegal alien barbarically hit this woman in the head multiple times with a hammer. This heinous murderer was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did the Biden administration release him into the country, but they then gave him Temporary Protected Status. Their reckless immigration policies cost this woman her life,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “The arrest of this criminal is an example of how ICE and local authorities can work together to swiftly bring criminals to justice and make our communities safer.”

President Trump shared the graphic surveillance video on Truth Social, highlighting the case as evidence of failed immigration enforcement under the previous administration.

On Friday, The New York Times published an article under the headline: “Trump Posts Graphic Video of Deadly Attack and Rails Against Haitian Immigrants.”

The sub headline read, “The man seen beating a woman is from Haiti and faces a murder charge in Florida, officials said.”

The piece described the incident as a “graphic footage” of a “man… from Haiti” who is “seen fatally beating a woman in front of a store.”

It referred to the crime as “the attack” and focused primarily on Trump’s decision to post the video, his criticism of Democrat immigration policies, and his long-standing push to end TPS protections for Haitians.

The article noted Trump’s “disparaging comments about Haitian immigrants for years” and included claims about lower overall immigrant crime rates nationwide, while quoting immigrant advocates who accused the president of spreading “false narratives.”

Rep. Eric Swalwell, the frontrunner in the Democrat primary for California governor, is facing explosive new accusations of sexual misconduct from a total of four women, including a former staffer who claims he raped her twice.

The allegations of the former staffer, who was the first to come forward, were initially reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.

After the initial article was published, three additional women spoke to CNN and provided evidence about alleged additional misconduct.

The explosive allegations come just weeks before California’s June primary and prompted immediate calls from Democrat leaders, including Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff, for Swalwell to drop out of the race.

The most serious claims come from an unnamed former congressional staffer who began working for Swalwell as a 20-year-old intern on his 2019 presidential campaign and later served in his district and Washington, D.C., offices.

She told the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN that Swalwell had nonconsensual sexual contact with her on two occasions while she was black out drunk.

In 2019, she says she woke up naked in his hotel room with no memory of what happened.

In 2024, years after she left his employment, she alleges that Swalwell raped her.

The woman said she was “pushing him off of me, saying no… He didn’t stop,” and that he left her bruised and bleeding.

Her account is corroborated by text messages, interviews with relatives and a friend, and medical records showing she sought STD and pregnancy testing afterward.

A second woman, who connected with Swalwell online over Democratic politics, told CNN that he kissed her and touched her leg without consent during a night out.

That woman claims she later ended up “extremely drunk” in his hotel room and has little memory of what happened next.

Social media creator Ally Sammarco accused Swalwell of sending her unsolicited nude photos after they connected on X to discuss politics.

“I truly never thought he would respond – I had like 1,000 followers at the time,” Sammarco told CNN. “And he actually responded.”

A fourth woman, who works in marketing, claimed Swalwell sent her “several videos of his penis,” which she said she did not ask for.

CNN reported that it reviewed screenshots of dozens of messages exchanged between Swalwell and the women.

Many of the explicit exchanges allegedly occurred via Snapchat, where messages automatically delete within a day.

An attorney for Swalwell sent two of the women CNN spoke with cease-and-desist letters on Thursday, a day after CNN first reached out to his campaign to request comment, according to copies of the letters they provided CNN. The letters called the women’s accounts “false,” ordered them to retract their statements and warned of potential legal action if they continue speaking out.

The letters said the women’s claims were “undermined” by their “voluntary and cooperative relationship with Mr. Swalwell over the course of many years” following the alleged incidents, including the former staffer asking him for job references.

Swalwell has denied all the allegations.

In a statement to CNN, Swalwell said, “These allegations are false and come on the eve of an election against the front-runner for governor for nearly 20 years. I have served the public as a prosecutor and a congressman and have always protected women. I will defend myself with the facts and where necessary bring legal action.”

Swalwell’s attorney added that the gubernatorial candidate has “never had nonconsensual sex with any woman or ever had sexual relations with any member of his staff.”

The CNN report added:

But several of the women who made allegations about Swalwell said that the congressman’s actions had long-term implications on their lives, leaving them confused, distraught and scared. They said they decided to come forward after hearing rumors that they were not alone in their experiences with the congressman.

The scandal has already caused visible damage to Swalwell’s campaign.

At least one of his staffers has resigned.

Former Rep. Katie Porter, another contender, called the allegations “troubling” and said she believes the accusers.

The women’s accounts have not led to criminal charges at this time, and no lawsuits have been publicly filed.

Swalwell is married and has three children. His wife has not publicly commented on the scandal at this time.

A 53-year-old woman from Bosnia and Herzegovina who participated in the torture and abuse of Bosnian Serb civilian prisoners during the 1990s war has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison after lying on her U.S. citizenship application to conceal her past atrocities.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Nada Radovan Tomanić was arrested in West Virginia in 2023.

Tomanić was finally sentenced on April 8 in Connecticut.

She had pleaded guilty in November to one count of procuring U.S. citizenship contrary to law.

According to the Department of Justice, Tomanić served with the Zulfikar Special Unit of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the early 1990s, including operations on Mt. Igman near Sarajevo.

Along with other unit members, she took part in the severe physical and psychological abuse of Bosnian Serb civilian prisoners held in detention facilities. The abuse included beatings and acts that amounted to torture and inhuman treatment, targeting victims based on their ethnicity and religion.

Tomanić entered the United States as a “refugee” in 1997.

In 2012, while living in Connecticut, she applied for naturalization.

On her application and during a sworn-in-person interview, she falsely denied ever serving in a detention facility, detaining others, or committing any crime involving the infliction of serious bodily harm.

Those lies allowed her to unlawfully obtain U.S. citizenship.

Tomanić worked for approximately 10 years at a grocery warehouse distributor in Connecticut before moving to West Virginia.

Federal investigators, including the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security’s Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center, uncovered her wartime conduct through cooperation with authorities in Bosnia, Serbia, and the United Nations.

Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division stated, “The defendant tortured and abused prisoners in Bosnia and then lied to U.S. immigration authorities to live in the U.S. and become a citizen. Human rights violators are not welcome in the United States.”

U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan for the District of Connecticut added, “There is no statute of limitations for human decency.”

The case was prosecuted by the Justice Department’s Human Rights and Special Prosecutions Section (HRSP), which targets individuals who commit human rights violations abroad and then seek safe haven in the United States through immigration fraud.

Tomanić was taken into custody immediately following her sentencing.

As part of the outcome, her U.S. citizenship has been revoked, and she faces deportation after serving her prison term.

Democrats hoping for the chance to unseat Republican Rep. Mike Lawler in New York’s battleground 17th Congressional District made their radical positions on immigration enforcement crystal clear at a candidate forum this week.

In video footage from the Westchester County Democratic Committee’s pre-primary debate on Thursday, at Manhattanville College, a moderator asked the candidates, “Abolish, reform, or keep ICE?”

The responses from three leading contenders left little doubt about their desire to see the agency keeping Americans safe destroyed.

Beth Davidson, the Rockland County legislator who leads early polling in the Democratic primary, responded first.

“Go back to the drawing board,” Davidson said. “We need a system that is humane and streamlined that keeps people safe and allows everyone who plays by the rules a full path to citizenship.”

Effie Phillips-Staley, a progressive Tarrytown Village Trustee and self-described “unapologetic progressive,” was blunter.

“Abolish ICE!” she declared.

Phillips-Staley has made abolishing the agency a centerpiece of her campaign.

On her official website, Phillips-Staley lists “abolishing ICE” among her priorities and published a press release in January titled “A New Vision for a Civil Immigration System,” calling for demilitarizing immigration enforcement and treating it as a civil administrative matter rather than a “paramilitary” operation.

Cait Conley, an Army combat veteran and former election security official from Ossining, framed ICE agents as the problem.

“Everyone will be held accountable,” she said, describing federal agents on American streets who “assault, harass, and kill people sworn to serve.”

Conley’s campaign site states she will fight to “rein in ICE” as part of opposing what she calls the Trump administration’s “unlawful and authoritarian agenda.”

New York’s 17th District, which includes parts of Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties, is a battleground seat.

The Democrat primary is scheduled for June 23.

Davidson currently leads the crowded field in fundraising and name recognition, according to recent polls reported by Politico and Patch.

The district has been a top target for national Democrats hoping to flip the House in the midterms.

Lawler has consistently supported strong border security and interior enforcement measures.

Senate Republicans are advancing a plan to fully fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term through budget reconciliation, a move that would require only a simple majority of 50 Republican votes plus Vice President JD Vance.

This means funding for the agencies will become immune to Democrat filibusters or shutdown threats.

The announcement came Thursday from Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, who confirmed he and Senate Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham will meet with President Trump at the White House on Friday to finalize the framework.

Barrasso told Fox News, “I’ll be at the White House with Lindsey Graham…we’re going to be talking with the president specifically about funding ICE, Immigration Custom Enforcement, funding the Department of Homeland Security’s Border Patrol, and doing it not just for this year, but through the entire time that President Trump is still in the White House, and doing it with Republican votes alone.”

The plan uses the budget reconciliation process, which allows certain fiscal measures to pass with 51 votes in the Senate (or 50 plus the vice president) and bypass the 60-vote filibuster threshold.

Republicans aim to narrowly target funding for immigration enforcement agencies, as there are ongoing disputes over the broader Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding package.

The move follows weeks of deadlock over DHS appropriations from Democrats.

A partial DHS shutdown has dragged on for nearly two months, with Democrats refusing to support full funding for ICE and CBP without concessions on immigration policy.

The Trump administration has vowed that DeCarlos Dejuan Brown Jr., the 35-year-old homeless career criminal accused of brutally stabbing Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska to death on a Charlotte light rail train, will face full federal prosecution and justice.

The promise comes after a North Carolina court ruled that Brown is mentally incompetent to stand trial on state murder charges.

U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon directly addressed the controversy on X Thursday, confirming that Brown remains in federal custody and that the federal case is unaffected by the state proceedings.

“Folks: I had a great call this morning with our US Attorney in Charlotte. Brown remains in federal custody and so the parallel state proceedings are in no way dispositive. There will be a federal competency determination and prosecution track taking precedence,” Dhillon wrote.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina reinforced the message, writing, “DeCarlos Brown is in federal custody on a federal indictment. The state proceedings, including any competency finding in those proceedings, are completely separate.”

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, on Tuesday, Brown’s state public defender filed a motion revealing that a court-ordered competency evaluation completed in December at Central Regional Hospital found him “incapable to proceed.”

Mecklenburg prosecutors agreed to delay a key hearing on whether to seek the death penalty in the state case for another 180 days.

On August 22, 2025, 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, who had fled the war in Ukraine seeking safety in the United States, boarded the Lynx Blue Line light rail in Charlotte around 9:55 p.m.

Surveillance video shows Brown, seated behind her, pull out a knife, unfold it, and stab her multiple times in the neck and upper body without any warning.

Brown then calmly walked off the train, leaving her to bleed out in her seat while many witnesses simply looked away.

Officers arrested him moments later on the platform.

Brown had been arrested 14 times prior to the killing, including for armed robbery, and had served prison time. He was free on a cashless bond for a misdemeanor charge of misusing the 911 system at the time of the attack.

Now, Brown faces state first-degree murder charges and a separate federal indictment for violence against a mass transportation system resulting in death.

The federal charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison or the death penalty.

President Donald Trump has publicly demanded justice in the case since shortly after the murder, calling Brown an “animal” and urging the death penalty.

The case also prompted the passage of “Iryna’s Law” legislation in North Carolina aimed at tightening bail policies for violent offenders and improving involuntary commitment procedures for the mentally ill.

Daniel Curran, the 35-year-old former fiancé of 72-year-old Democrat Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, died by suicide on his birthday, Thursday morning, just one day after the two appeared together in civil court regarding a domestic violence case.

Curran was found dead outside an apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office ruled the death a suicide.

Trantalis and Curran began dating in March 2025. The couple became engaged just four months later. The engagement ended in the fall of 2025.

Around the time of the split, Trantalis filed for a domestic violence injunction against Curran.

Court filings alleged prior incidents in which Curran had thrown objects, brandished knives, and toppled furniture in an attempt to force Trantalis out of his home.

On November 1, Curran allegedly violated the injunction by showing up at Trantalis’ home in an attempt to get back together.

A physical altercation broke out in which Curran allegedly shoved the mayor, grabbed his leg, and dragged him approximately 15 feet across the street. Trantalis had injuries to his wrist, left leg, and knee.

Curran was arrested on November 4 and charged with battery on a person 65 or older, contempt of court, and violation of a domestic violence injunction. He pleaded not guilty and was released after posting a $6,000 bond.

The Tampa Bay Times reports:

The two had been living together at the time, but had a tumultuous relationship, according to police and court records. The September before Curran’s arrest, Trantalis had received a restraining order against him, saying that Curran had thrown objects at him and sent life-threatening messages to him and the police chief, according to the petition for the restraining order. The two had begun living together again before Curran’s arrest in November.

After Curran’s arrest, a new stay-away order was granted in the criminal case. On Wednesday, the day before Curran’s death, a judge had granted a request to modify the no-contact order, allowing Curran and the mayor to have contact over the phone and in public, court records show.

Thursday was Curran’s 35th birthday.

Curran issued a statement after his arrest, saying, “No matter what. I always have and will love him.”

On Wednesday, Trantalis and Curran appeared in Broward County civil court. Trantalis told the judge that he no longer viewed Curran as a threat.

The judge modified the existing no-contact order to allow limited interactions between the two men.

The next day, Curran was dead.

Mayor Trantalis released a statement about his ex-fiancé’s death, saying, “It is with profound sorrow that today we learned of the death of Danny Curran.”

“He was a loving individual, and my sympathies go out to his family. Perhaps now, the pain he endured will subside. May he rest in peace.”

Rep. Brandon Gill delivered a blistering takedown of the DIGNIDAD Act during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” slamming the immigration bill backed by some Republicans as a reward for illegal aliens that ignores the suffering of American citizens.

Gill did not hold back as he slammed arguments that the legislation helps illegal aliens “living in fear,” instead pointing to the real victims of open-border policies.

“The people who are ACTUALLY ‘living in fear’ are the Americans who are sending their kids to schools that are FLOODED by fentanyl because of our open borders and because of what illegal aliens have done!” Gill stated.

The congressman continued: “The people who are living in FEAR are the Americans who can’t put food on the table because their wages have been suppressed because of illegal aliens who are in this country or who have lost their jobs altogether!”

The DIGNIDAD Act (H.R. 4393) was introduced by Republican Rep. María Elvira Salazar and co-sponsored by Democrat Rep. Veronica Escobar, along with roughly 20 Republicans and 20 Democrats.

Among the Republican cosponsors are Reps. Michael Lawler, David Valadao, Dan Newhouse, Mike Kelly, Brian Fitzpatrick, Gabe Evans, Marlin Stutzman, Don Bacon, Young Kim, Mario Díaz-Balart, and others.

The bill would create a “Dignity Program” granting renewable legal status to illegal aliens who have been in the U.S. for more than five years, provided they pass background checks, pay restitution and back taxes, and meet other requirements.

Gill and other America First conservatives have repeatedly called the legislation a “grotesque betrayal” that would undermine President Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda and reward illegal immigration.

Gill has also criticized the bill’s Spanish title as an “added insult” to American voters.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Gill wrote, “It’s actually not called the ‘Dignity Act’ It’s called the ‘DIGNIDAD Act’ It’s in a foreign language for added insult.”
